What I Do

Background

Dr. Bilash is a registered psychologist who for many years worked at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. He is a former associate professor in the Department of Clinical Health Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba. Dr. Bilash has worked with diverse patient populations using a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches. In his last post, he held the position of Director of the Stress and Anxiety Management Clinic at the Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Bilash has been involved in the training and supervision of psychology residents and was a major instructor and supervisor in the area of hypnosis in the Department of Clinical Health Psychology. He also taught hypnosis to psychiatry residents. In recent years, he has taken an interest in Buddhist psychology including mindfulness and meditation. Dr. Bilash was the first president of the Manitoba Psychological Society.

Appointments & Payment

Appointments are best made via email, but can also be arranged by telephone or fax. The first appointment is typically devoted to information gathering and providing feedback. If time permits, therapy itself may be initiated. Sessions are 50 minutes in length. All information is confidential except as dictated by law and regulatory guidelines. Psychological services are covered by many health insurance plans. Payments are made by cash or cheque. In the case of hardship, direct billing is acceptable.
