ABOUT US
Todd Hsueh
After graduating with a Masters in Chemical Engineering, I came to the realization that this was not where my passion was at. After seeing how Chinese medicine and acupuncture changed the health and well being of my family, I decided to devote the rest of my life to learn modalities of wellness. My motivation lies in the fact that I am able to contribute to these patients so they can live happy and healthy lives.
The real learning began after I got my certificate as a R.TCM.P. Since then, I have traveled to Taiwan, Los Angeles and other places to learn from acupuncturist masters. These masters have also traveled around the world to further master the art of acupuncture. With over 2000 years of history, different styles of acupuncture have emerged. I have learned different styles to accommodate for everyone, especially for those with a fear of needles. Now I'm glad to be in the City of South Surrey. My whole family has moved here and it's a very welcoming city.
OVERVIEW OF SERVICES OFFERED
Initial Examination - Free
This is where we discuss any concerns with health and how to go forward. There may be questionnaires and examination of pulse.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture stimulates the flow of chi through thin, sterile needles. For more information on what acupuncture can treat, go to services -> acupuncture.
Chinese Herbs
We use Chinese herbs to manage your chi when you're at home. Not all symptoms and illnesses may require Chinese herbs.
Acupressure
This is an alternative to acupuncture, without the use of needles. The practitioner would use their hand to apply pressure on meridians.
WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?
Introduction to Acupuncture
Acupuncture uses thin needles to stimulate pressure points and promote healthy Chi (qi) flow. The beauty of acupuncture is that it promotes self-healing. With no substances entering your body, it is your own body doing the work, with no chemicals for the kidney to excrete. For examples on what acupuncture can treat, please refer to "what can acupuncture treat" and our "testimonies"
Definition of Chi
Chi is best described as vital energy that flows throughout the body. (Nature has Chi?). There are several ways of disrupting our Chi. Our diet, stress, amount of exercise and environment can positively and negatively affect Chi. Generally speaking, our body is capable of managing its own Chi. However, there are times when our bodies struggles to return to normal. This is where acupuncture comes in to guide your body in the right direction. * example, eating hot peppers?.
Science Behind Acupuncture
For those that are curious about the mechanisms behind acupuncture (and would enjoy a nice read), I have read recent scientific papers on acupuncture and will summarize them below in layman's terms.

OUR METHOD
What makes us distinct
Our treatments are special. Instead of long needles, we use needles of 1.3cm in length. This is a very historical method of acupuncture that's not taught in local schools of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It originates from the ancient text, the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine. Todd often travels to hone his acupuncture skills from masters all over the world.
We combine our acupuncture with professional FDA heated far infrared BioMat for all acupuncture treatments. We found this combination of modern technology with traditional acupuncture to be most effective. The far infrared stimulates blood flow and relaxes one's body, amplifying the effect of acupuncture.
