An Eco-Friendly Goodbye

An eco-friendly, green burial takes a step back from the modern practice of cremation and returns to the root of traditional burial. Wrapped in a shroud or in a biodegradable casket, the body is returned to the earth in the most natural way possible. Over time, the cemetery is restored to the surrounding ecosystem. Beyond the ecological value of the process, there are also benefits to the grieving family. The rituals, connection, and involvement throughout the process allows them to experience, feel, and connect to their loss first hand, taking positive steps on their grieving journey.

Brighter, Clearer Skin

Glycolic Chemical Peels are a popular treatment for wrinkles, acne, rosacea and scarring. Glycolic is a fruit acid derived from sugar cane. When applied to the skin, it helps remove the “glue” that holds the older, rougher and drier skin on the surface. By peeling this layer of skin, a fresh, new layer becomes visible. This skin is brighter and exfoliated. It will look younger, with fewer fine lines and wrinkles. People with acne will often notice that their skin is less oily and much clearer. There is little recovery time and no pain relievers are necessary.

Wool Bedding Benefits

We lose an average of one liter of liquid per night. Wool is a natural hollow fiber that absorbs and wicks away that moisture preventing the conditions that allow bad bacteria to thrive. Wool absorbs 33% its own weight in moisture. Dampness aggravates muscle aches and pains and conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia and diabetes. Dust mites don’t live in wool making it a natural remedy for asthmatic conditions. It promotes blood circulation for a deep, uninterrupted sleep and allows the magnetic field of the body to keep flowing! Wool is nature’s answer to many of our health and comfort needs.

Resolve to Prevent Falls

Slippery floors, poor lighting, loose rugs, electrical cords and clutter – all can be addressed proactively to prevent dangerous situations. Visit each room in your home. Look at the space objectively and ask, “Is this safe? Are there objects or items that present a risk?” If so, think about ways to create a safer home like to wear non slip socks or slippers, use night lights in dark hallways, remove throw rugs, keep electrical cords safely hidden behind furniture and organize your projects so they are off the floor and out of walkways.

Healing Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu

Jin Shin Jyutsu has been recognized in hospitals and clinics all over the world as an integrative healing practice, supporting complex health issues. It helps release blockages in energy pathways since accumulation of tension can lead to illness, disease, emotional and/or mental suffering. Areas of our bodies can be overloaded when we experience traumatic or daily stress. Through simple exercises that can be applied by a practitioner as well as oneself through gentle touch in specific places on the body, energy blockages open and allow the body to heal itself.
