Donations Graciously Accepted

When you are planning your end of year giving, we hope that the Golden Circle Senior Resource Centre will be top of mind as your charity of choice. We are more than just a drop-in centre for older adults, we are an intergenerational gathering space and resource centre. We provide important outreach services to older adults to help them actively age in the place that is right for them by offering services such as: supportive transportation to medical appointments, grocery delivery, housekeeping, snow removal, lawn care and elder abuse support just to name a few.
Every dollar truly makes a difference to our non-profit society. You can go to our website to find a donate button through Canada Helps, or feel free to drop in for a tour and a visit with our friendly staff and volunteers.

The Golden Circle has been an important part of the Red Deer and Area community for over 45 years and your generous support is vital to allowing us to continue to do the important work we do every day for older adults in our community!

Avoid Magnesium Deficiency

Did you know a third of adults are not consuming the recommended amount of magnesium? A processed diet with mainly cooked foods can lead to a magnesium deficiency. This can result in fatigue, irritability, insomnia, confusion, or poor memory. Decreased levels of magnesium can also be linked to high blood pressure, kidney stones, and heart disease. Magnesium is considered the anti-stress mineral because of its natural tranquilizer/relaxer effect on skeletal and smooth muscle, including the blood vessels and heart! Eat your dark leafy greens, legumes, nuts, and fatty fish to get more magnesium in your diet, or ask about a high quality supplement.

Travel Safe

Some destination vacations require more planning than others. A travel health consultation with your pharmacist before a trip can help you gain insight into health concerns and disease-prevention strategies. Receive personalized information on the following: Required immunizations or boosters – Health risks at your destination – Over-the-counter medications to manage symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, and allergic reactions. Plan ahead and book your travel health consultation at least six to eight weeks before your trip. You can then enjoy your vacation with greater peace of mind.

What is Holistic Dentistry?

In holistic dentistry, the mouth is viewed as an integral part of the digestive tract, which is crucial to overall health. A holistic dentistry practitioner takes time to educate patients on key nutrients for systemic and emotional health, the importance of restful oxygenated sleep and proper digestion, and the dangers of infected teeth and gum inflammation. Specialized technology is used in holistic dentistry, such as PRF, ozone, lasers and CBCT imaging, to properly diagnose and manage disease. In addition, only biocompatible materials are used, as opposed to ‘tolerable’ ones such as BPA-free composites, zirconia, and no amalgam silver fillings.
