July 30th International Day of Friendship.
Sharing the human spirit through friendship. Our world faces many challenges, crises and forces of division — such as poverty, violence, and human rights abuses — among many others — that undermine peace, security, development and social harmony among the world’s peoples.
To confront those crises and challenges, their root causes must be addressed by promoting and defending a shared spirit of human solidarity that takes many forms — the simplest of which is friendship.
Through friendship — by accumulating bonds of camaraderie and developing strong ties of trust — we can contribute to the fundamental shifts that are urgently needed to achieve lasting stability, weave a safety net that will protect us all, and generate passion for a better world where all are united for the greater good.” Exert from United Nations Website International Day of Friendship.
Friendships are an important part in our over all wellbeing. There are 6 areas that friendships can impact our lives. We suffer from less loneliness and social isolation, it helps to reduce stress, provides emotional support, helps in our personal development, provides us with a sense of belonging, and supports us through some of life’s challenges. We all lose friends because we had to move, or they passed on, or they had to move. Some of us when we get older are not interested in making new friends because we are afraid that we are going to lose them too. The Golden Circle provides people the opportunity to connect with people and help establish new social bonds. You might even find someone that you can travel with because your travel partner is no longer with you. Whenever we ask the question “why did you join the Golden Circle”, the two top reasons are the comradery and meeting new people. So check out the Golden Circle, meet new people, get connected.
