Smelly Feet?
Does the person sitting next to you have bromodosis? Smelly feet is a very common medical condition from buildup of sweat resulting in bacteria growth on the skin. Your feet have more sweat glands than any other part of your body with naturally occurring bacteria to help break down sweat. Bad odor forms when bacteria and sweat is allowed to build up. Some simple tips to prevent bromodosis includes using a scrub brush to wash your feet at least once a day, keeping toenails short and alternating between two pairs of shoes. Look for well-fitting socks made with antimicrobial fibers to keep your feet sweet smelling all day.
Sign of Intelligence…?
Which is your longest toe? If you answered “the second toe”, intelligence is not necessarily indicated, but a predisposition to certain foot ailments is. Up to 30% of the population has inherited this structure. The medical term for this is “Morton’s Toe”, and it is actually the result of a shortened first metatarsal bone and not a long second toe. This foot structure makes you more prone to stress fractures, metatarsalgia, over-pronation, and bunions. All of these symptoms can be reduced or prevented with proper support from a custom foot orthotic, designed specifically for this foot structure.

Singing to Your Unborn Child
Research shows that an unborn child has the capacity to feel, sense, hear, and communicate from as early as the twelfth week of gestation. For example, maternal fear and stress will affect a fetus’ activity in the womb, hard rock music will produce violently hyperactive movement, or a bright light over the abdomen will increase fetal heartbeat. Singing to your unborn child is a special form of communication that stimulates the physical, psychological, and emotional growth of the developing child. While singing folk songs, lullabies, or a favourite melody directly to your unborn baby, you may be surprised when he or she joins in on the fun.

April is truly spring. Our senses peak to the scent of flowers, vivid colours, and sounds of birds. This is a perfect time to multiply the effects everywhere within our body, especially with exercise and nutrition. You feel like walking and running outdoors and just the look of fresh spring vegetables will have them home and on your plate before you know it. It is so important to glorify the positives around and within you. Breathe it in and hold it in your memories for future use. People sometimes say, “Nothing makes me happy.” Spring is your chance to discover natural happiness; start your inventory of happy this month.

Feeling Stuck?
Life can get sticky sometimes – maybe it’s a job you don’t want, or you notice you’re not doing the stuff that will help you feel okay. Or maybe you are finding other people really hard to bear. We can struggle to be effective at times, and blame ourselves – or we feel blamed by the people who are getting us down to begin with! How to change your circumstances? Counselling can be a safe and neutral place to consider your options – whether you want to find new boundaries, bounce back, act in new ways, find acceptance, or support yourself better.
Smile Confidently
Dental implants from offer a great way to replace missing teeth and also provide patients with the option of having removable partial or complete dentures. Implants provide excellent support and stability for these dental appliances. Dental implants are artificial roots (titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone by a dentist or periodontist (a specialist of the gums and supporting bone). The teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and often enhance or restore a patient’s smile! Dental implants are strong and durable and will last many years. On occasion they will have to be re-tightened or replaced due to normal wear.
The Movement and Learning Connection
Is your child feeling overwhelmed or frustrated about keeping up at school? Is he or she struggling with lack of focus or motivation? What if learning can be fun? Imagine your child learning multiplication tables while doing physical exercises. Boredom and fatigue slip away. It’s not long before your child lights up and realizes he is finally grasping and recalling math or new concepts in science. Confidence begins to grow. Movements that cross the midline of the body fire up the brain. Brain gym exercises release stress and flood the body with endorphins, which also help with depression or anxiety. Simply put, when the body moves, the mind moves.
