Tropical Plants for Cleaner Air

These five tropical plants can absorb carbon dioxide and air particles while also releasing oxygen, helping to make your home’s air cleaner: 1) Boston Ferns – clean the air of formaldehyde and xylene, and act as natural humidifiers, restoring moisture in the air. 2) Spider Plants – help remove carbon monoxide and other toxins from the air, including formaldehyde. 3) Golden Pothos – great for general indoor air quality improvement. 4) Snake Plants – are effective at absorbing nitrogen oxides and formaldehyde, and release oxygen at night. 5) Areca Palms – filter xylene and toluene from the air, and act as natural humidifiers.

Tree of Lights Campaign

We are pleased to announce that the 2021 Tree of Lights campaign was a huge success. We changed the pancake breakfast to a delivery/drive-through model due to COVID-19 and we cooked and served pancakes for 417 people. The Tree of Lights memorial tag campaign and the proceeds from the breakfast have allowed us to purchase BRHC the items on their Christmas wish list – a ceiling lift for the 400 medical unit, 3 stretchers for the GI unit, and new furniture for the family room on the 300 inpatient surgery unit. Thank you to everyone who sponsored and supported these campaigns!

Heart Health at Pharmasave

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, often goes unrecognized and untreated because there are no symptoms. Your pharmacist can help you reduce your risk for heart attack and stroke, by: 1. Reviewing your medications, helping you take them as prescribed and managing potential side effects. 2. Teaching you how to use a blood pressure monitoring device properly and testing your blood pressure regularly. 3. Advising you how to maintain a healthy weight, and a diet that’s low in sodium. and 4. Guiding you through a step-by-step quit smoking plan. Learn more about how to keep your blood pressure under control by speaking with your pharmacist.
