Are you a Hot Head?
Don’t let anger fester! It causes chronic stress and frequent headaches. Also, when you finally explode, you end up saying hurtful things. Look for the deeper meaning behind your anger. For example, if you’re mad because your boss pays more attention to your coworkers, analyze your feelings. Maybe you’re tired of the job and want a way out. Finally, if you’re stuck in a situation that’s making you angry, mentally step back, and pretend you’re an observer. Find good ways to release your anger: Talk about it, or choose calm, solitary activities, meditate, take a long walk or a hot bath.
Sound Strategies for Distraction-Free Study
If you study while listening to music, here’s how to keep it from interfering with your studies. These tips are life changing: Play something on the mellow side, and keep the volume low. No drums, they are distracting. Pick familiar music so you won’t want to listen so intently. Save your new playlist for free time. Think instrumental. It can be hard to concentrate if the songs have lyrics. Try not to become so dependent on studying to music, so that you can’t study without it. Think binaural or bilateral beats. I can get you great links, message me.

One parent from the Moose Jaw Vitality Project, Bobbi Tienkamp, a dedicated mother of four has been following the Dr. Goodenowe program said: “It has completely changed my son’s trajectory for the better. He was diagnosed with level three autism; with the changes I have seen thus far I expect he will not even qualify for an autism diagnosis soon.” Bobbi and Colt’s story is not just about therapies or milestones – it’s about rediscovering connection, celebrating breakthroughs, and proving that growth is possible when differences are embraced with compassion and commitment.

Recognize Hearing Loss Signs
October is National Protect Your Hearing Month and Thanksgiving, a perfect time to recognize signs of hearing loss. Keep an eye out for these warning signs: frequently asking others to repeat themselves, needing to turn up the TV or radio volume, or experiencing persistent ringing in your ears. Difficulty understanding conversations in noisy environments, missing everyday sounds, or having trouble hearing when your back is turned to someone are also key indicators. Speaking too loudly or finding phone conversations challenging may also signal hearing issues. Early detection is crucial for better outcomes, so prioritize your hearing health this month and schedule a free assessment with your local Beltone clinic.

The Power of Mentorship:
One Relationship at a Time
Mentorship is more than simply spending time together; it’s a relationship that can transform the course of a young person’s life. A mentor offers consistency, encouragement, and guidance, creating a safe space for growth that many youths have never experienced before. The benefits reach far beyond the moment, shaping habits, values, and self-belief that can last a lifetime.
A strong mentoring relationship builds confidence. When youth are consistently supported and encouraged, they become more willing to try new things, meet new people, and step into unfamiliar situations. It also fosters resilience, the ability to adapt when plans change, challenges arise, or life takes an unexpected turn. Mentorship provides a steady example of patience, kindness, and respect, giving youth a model for healthy communication and problem-solving.
It also develops life skills that prepare young people for independence. Whether it’s learning to cook, manage responsibilities, or navigate social situations, mentors can guide youth toward skills they’ll carry into adulthood. And importantly, mentorship nurtures empathy and integrity, encouraging youth to treat others well, act honestly, and stand up for what’s right.
One young person entered the mentorship program bright and curious but guarded. Before mentorship, it was noted that he sometimes used inappropriate language or avoided taking responsibility, though this began to shift as he experienced consistent, calm communication, patience, and respect from his mentor. Over time, those qualities were reflected back in his own behavior.
In the early stages, he was hesitant to try new activities and often withdrew when plans didn’t work out. Gradually, he became more open and adaptable, taking changes in stride. His social confidence flourished, walking into new spaces, greeting people warmly, and engaging in conversations with ease and respect. He demonstrated honesty by returning items that weren’t his, encouraged friends to act with integrity, and took pride in learning practical skills such as doing laundry, cooking, fishing, and helping set up activities for others.
Perhaps the most significant change has been in his empathy—showing appreciation, sharing more openly, and understanding that vulnerability can be a strength. Today, he advocates for himself and others, a skill that will benefit him throughout his life.
Mentorship matters because it creates opportunities for this kind of growth. It gives young people someone to believe in them, guide them, and model the values they need to thrive. Every youth deserves that chance, to see what’s possible when they have a steady, positive role model walking beside them.
