There are several kinds of ticks crawling around Saskatchewan, including the Deer Tick which is responsible for transmitting Lyme Disease. Avoiding tick bites is the best way to prevent this. Here’s how you can keep yourself bite-free when spending time outdoors: 1) Wear closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, and pants. 2) Walk on pathways, staying clear of heavily wooded areas. 3) Use bug spray with DEET or picaridin. 4) After being outside, check yourself, children, gear, and pets for ticks, bathe, and put all clothes worn outdoors into a dryer for 10-20 minutes. If you find an embedded tick, gently remove it using tweezers by pulling close to the skin, avoiding squeezing the tick.
Watermelon Smoothie
2 cups of frozen seedless watermelon. (Chop and freeze beforehand)
½ a Cucumber: You can peel or not peel. (Leaving the peel on makes the color of this smoothie more brown, but provides ore fiber and nutrients)
2 springs of Mint leaves
Optional: Water and honey can be added as needed. You may need water to blend it or at least get the blender started. And, while watermelon is very sweet, a touch of honey can help amplify the sweetness.
Blend all ingredients together until smooth, adding water as needed to get things moving in the blender. Enjoy!

Outgrown Beliefs and Well-being
Beliefs formed in childhood often carry negative energy that affects us into adulthood. These outgrown beliefs can impose unnecessary stress, leading to physical pain and health issues. One common outdated belief is expecting others to think and act as we do, causing personal conflicts. Remember, everyone has unique experiences shaping their beliefs. If your actions clash with your old beliefs, it can lead to guilt and self-contempt. Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique (B.E.S.T.) can help update these outdated beliefs, aligning them with your current reality to prevent future triggers. By addressing and synchronizing your beliefs, B.E.S.T. promotes better health and well-being.
Preventing Overdose through Counselling
Overdose has become a reality for many individuals and families. Many social issues have contributed to the rise in drug use. While harm-reduction efforts have been successful in many ways, it is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach that works for everyone struggling. Counselling can be a support to those facing the possible impacts of substance use. Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavior Therapy approaches to counselling may be helpful in avoiding overdose. For family members counselling with a qualified professional may help to support your loved one through addictions and avoid overdose. Don’t wait to speak to a trained practitioner. Call Angie today.

Choosing the Right Foods for Men Over 40
For men over 40 looking to lose weight and improve health, focusing on high-fat foods can be beneficial. Fats provide 9 calories per gram and do not significantly impact insulin levels. Reducing insulin secretion is key to weight loss. Consuming the right fats enhances energy production and promotes hormonal balance, allowing the body to use stored fat for energy. Include these fats: extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, flax oil, hemp seed oil, avocados, salted butter, high-fat whipping cream, and salmon.
