Housekeeping Services

Saskatoon Services for Seniors offers housekeeping services for all seniors in Saskatoon. Our staff is screened and fully insured. We are here to assist with many household cleaning services such as kitchens, bathrooms, laundry, dusting and wall washing. We only provide the services that you require and as such only have a one hour minimum for each appointment. We can provide regular weekly service, bi-weekly services or just when you need us. The fee involved is based on the senior’s income and if cost is a barrier, though our donors we can usually overcome this barrier to be able to get seniors the help they need.

Yardwork Services

Services include lawn cutting, spring and fall cleanup of leaves, gardening, flower beds and weeding. As with all of our services we can provide as much or as little based on what you require. We can also do landscaping, pruning, trimming and edging as well. For landscaping work we look at what you require and will provide you with a rough price before we would go ahead with any work. As always if cost is a barrier we will work with you to overcome that barrier. During spring and fall we can also do outside window cleaning and eaves cleaning as well.

Oral Health Month

April is Oral Health Month in Canada and a great reminder to practice good oral hygiene! Here are five tips for maintaining good oral health: 1) Make healthy food choices and limit sugary and highly acidic foods to avoid tooth decay and acid erosion. 2) Don’t smoke or use tobacco products, which can stain teeth, cause gum damage, give you bad breath, cause tooth loss, and even lead to oral cancer. 3) Brush twice and floss once daily. 4) Make note of any oral issues you have, including sensitivity, bleeding, pain, or strange lumps. 5) Visit your dentist regularly.

Get Your Mouth Checked!

An oral health exam is critical to the maintenance of your overall wellbeing. You should have your mouth checked at least once a year for prevention and treatment of any ailments. Even if you don’t have any live teeth, it’s important to make sure there are no signs of infections or early signs of cancer, growths, or cysts, and that your dentures are fitting you well. Leaving problems untreated usually leads to pain, periodontal disease, or tooth loss, and could make treatment more difficult, so it’s best to deal with problems early, or, if possible, prevent them.

We’re Hiring

We have several positions available in our Organization from Housekeeping, Yard Work and Grocery Delivery. If you enjoy working with Seniors and making a difference in their lives, please contact us today.
