One of the most frequently asked questions of physiotherapists is: ice or heat? Ice is for injuries — calming down damaged superficial tissues that are red, hot, and swollen. The inflammatory process is a healthy, normal, natural one that, unfortunately, also happens to be incredibly painful. Be careful not to ice too long, as frostbite can occur. Heat is for muscles, chronic pain, and stress — taking the edge off of symptoms like muscle aching and stiffness. Generally speaking, ice is for fresh injuries, and heat is for stiff, aching muscles. But it’s best to seek advice from your physiotherapist as to which is best for your condition.
The Gift of Inner Harmony
This holiday season, consider the gift of wellness with a BodyTalk session for YOU! It is so relaxing to lie on a massage table and have a BodyTalk practitioner talk with your inner wisdom. The practitioner will touch your arm or hand. Using neuromuscular feedback, the body / mind / subconscious part of you answers Yes / No to direct the BodyTalk Practitioner to highlight information often with a specific technique. BodyTalk can foster resilience and inner harmony. Include a BodyTalk session on your wish list.

Holiday Peace: Navigating Family Conflicts
The holiday season, while joyful for many, can be a challenging time if family conflicts are present. Prioritizing self-care is crucial to navigating these dynamics. Set healthy boundaries to protect your emotional well-being—it’s okay to politely decline gatherings that feel overwhelming. Take moments to recharge by stepping outside for a walk or practicing mindfulness techniques like deep breathing. Remember, not every issue needs to be resolved during the holidays; sometimes, postponing difficult conversations can bring more peace. Reaching out to a counselor for support can also provide invaluable coping tools, helping you face holiday challenges with resilience.
Spiritual Awakening & Negative Emotions
You can’t bypass negative emotions during a spiritual awakening, but you can create a healthy body, mind, and spirit to process them. Healing past traumas, whether from childhood, ancestry, or past lives, happens when you’re ready. It’s a gradual journey of self-awareness, acceptance, and release. The more you awaken, the more your body sheds chaotic energy tied to past pain. Though challenging, each step makes you stronger. Healing offers the ultimate freedom: creating a life free from the grip of past wounds. Embrace the journey and allow your heart to heal.
Unlocking the Power of Scalar Energy
Quantum Scalar Energy, originally studied by Nikola Tesla, is gaining attention for its potential health benefits. The Energy Enhancement System (EESystem) creates a scalar field that helps foster a coherent environment for healing and overall wellness. Advocates claim it enhances cellular function, boosts the immune system, and improves mental clarity. It is also reported to help reduce inflammation, aid in detoxification, and increase energy levels. Although scientific research is ongoing, many people experience significant energy improvements when dealing with chronic health issues like cancer, arthritis, mental health challenges, and sleep disorders. Tips for a Healthy Prostate
Prostate cancer can have very similar symptoms to benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), caused by an enlarged prostate, or sometimes none at all. Signs to look for are urinary symptoms (frequency, urgency), fatigue, back pain or blood in the urine/semen. What can you do to maintain prostate health? Get quality sleep; stick to a diet rich in vegetables/phytonutrients, good fats, lean protein; and exercise! Supplementation (herbal and nutrient combinations) is very beneficial and a non-invasive treatment for BPH. Naturopathic medicine can provide additional support for prostate cancer. This can include decreasing side effects from conventional treatment and supplementation (oral and IV).
