Self-Care Day – Reminder

Self-Care Day on July 24th serves as a reminder that caring for yourself should be a daily priority—24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For seniors, maintaining oral health is a key part of overall wellness. Healthy teeth and gums support good nutrition, clear speech, and self-confidence. Brushing twice a day, flossing, and regular dental checkups can help prevent gum disease, tooth loss, and other complications. Even dentures and implants need ongoing care. This Self-Care Day, take a simple step—like updating your dental routine—and feel the lasting benefits of investing in your health and quality of life.

Great News from SSNVI

Senior Support North Vancouver Island has had a very busy and productive past few months. SSNVI has experienced amazing growth in programming and staff, resulting in increased support to vulnerable seniors across the region. Through increased funding, SSNVI has been able to expand programming in Campbell River, including taking over the management of the long-established Better at Home program and creating a new Community Connector position. As well, we have brought the Intergenerational Action Network located in the Comox Valley under the SSNVI umbrella. This opportunity to expand programming to seniors in the region is a demonstration of the support and trust we receive from our funders such as VIHA, United Way and the BC government, along with local businesses and organizations from Bowser to Campbell River.
We are so incredibly thankful to ALL who support the work of SSNVI. But we especially want to thank our invaluable staff and volunteers for their hard work, passion, and commitment to our mission of assisting vulnerable seniors across the region. It is through their efforts that SSNVI can make a difference in the lives of seniors in the region.
Senior Support North Vancouver Island offices are located at; C1-450 8th Street, Courtenay and 101- 300 St Ann’s Road, Campbell River.

Closing your eyes can deepen relaxation and reduce distractions. Just a few minutes a day can make a noticeable difference in your overall well-being, helping you feel more balanced and refreshed.
