What’s in Your Water

What’s really in the water that flows out of our faucets? 1. Chlorine – it is called upon as a disinfectant as it effectively kills microorganisms. The trouble is that chlorine does not know when to stop killing organisms, which leads to toxic effects for the body 2. Heavy metals – they can wreak havoc at the cellular level and can cause all types of health problems and weaken the immune system. 3. Fluoride – another toxic substance. Turn off the tap and get a glass of pure, clean, distilled water. It tastes better too!

Keep Your Home Healthy & Warm

With the frigid temperatures on their way, homeowners in Steinbach and surrounding areas need a well-functioning furnace to create a cozy home. Unfortunately, older furnaces can stir up other problems. Consider installing an upgraded heating system. With a new system, you’ll be able to lower monthly energy bills, enjoy more consistent heating and know your furnace is operating safely and reliably. Advances in technology have increased furnace efficiency and it now takes less fuel to produce the same amount of heat. Newer systems are also compatible with smart thermostats, which can automatically regulate the temperature in your home—helping to save money each month.

Making Tea with Distilled Water

The water you use to make tea can greatly affect the overall taste. Fresh distilled water is produced using a process that mimics the natural hydrologic cycle. This means it’s lacking in any of the pollutants, toxins, and other contaminants that can be lurking in tap water, and so provides a purer taste when it comes to making tea. A lack of impurities that affect flavour leads not only to a better tasting cup of tea using distilled water, but also a healthier one, since you can avoid consuming the potentially harmful substances found in some water sources.

If you’re looking to improve your social health, consider signing up for a virtual or in-person class at a senior centre. Victoria Lifeline’s GoSafe personal help button can also help you feel safe while you look for ways to stay active and connected.
