Brain Tumor Awareness Month
The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada’s mission is to reach every person in Canada who is affected by a brain tumour through support, education, information, and research. Every day, 27 Canadians are diagnosed with a brain tumour. We work to serve the needs of both malignant and non-malignant brain tumours. Research funded by Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada has helped improve the accuracy of radiation treatments, shorten treatment regimen times, limit side effects from chemo, and improve quality of life for patients after surgery. We are the sole funder of the Brain Tumour Tissue Bank, providing free samples to clinical researchers around the world to further the search for a cure.
Importance of Safe Skincare
Skin is our body’s largest organ and our protective barrier and keeping it healthy is essential for our wellbeing. With conventional beauty products, we are exposed to numerous harmful ingredients, such as preservatives, fragrance (both synthetic and natural) and dyes. some of which can lead to skin reactions. On top of it, there have also been major concerns about side effects of long-term exposure to many of these ingredients. Natural skincare is a niche market was born out of consumers’ concerns for product safety. When properly formulated, natural products provide healthy, effective, safe and environmentally friendly solutions for your skin.

By providing assistance with these simple, day-to-day tasks, Better at Home assures seniors continue to live independently in their own homes and remain connected to their communities. Better at Home services are offered province wide with the help of Healthy Aging by United Way. Services vary from community to community but may include the following: Friendly Visiting. Transportation. Light Yard Work. Minor Home Repairs. Light Housekeeping. Grocery Shopping. Due to Covid, some services are temporarily being offered virtually. To find out more about the services, please contact Simren at 604-536-9348.
Good Fit for Home-Care Services?
Because home care covers such a broad variety of services, there is not just one condition that makes someone a good fit for in-home care. Home care aides can be hired to assist a client with any of their needs, whether that be getting transportation to appointments, or grocery shopping and cooking meals. You may be a good candidate for in-home care if you’re in need of any of the following: Assistance with daily tasks, housekeeping, mobility assistance, medication management, short-term care (if you’re recovering from an illness or surgery and need extra assistance), or even companionship if you’re living alone and struggling with feeling isolated.
