Hear Every Precious Moment

This Father’s Day, give Dad something that truly improves quality of life: better hearing. Many men ignore the early signs of hearing loss, from turning up the television to struggling in conversations, but untreated hearing issues can affect relationships, mental health, balance, and overall wellbeing. A professional hearing check is quick, painless, and an important part of men’s health care, just like regular eye exams or blood pressure checks. Modern hearing aids are discreet, comfortable, and designed to keep fathers connected to family moments that matter most. Encourage Dad to hear every story, laugh, and memory clearly this Father’s Day.

June Intuitive Insight

Oracle Card drawn by Lygia
Ramcharan – Righteousness “Now is a time to be centred. Go within and find your peace. Breathe. Let go of what no longer serves you. Allow nature to harmonize your senses. Know that whatever leaves you returns in a much better form. Righteousness is akin to spirituality. Know that you are being guided by a higher source and that you are never alone in your decisions. There is nothing to fear. If you feel unbalanced, simply go outside and ground in nature.”

June is Men’s Health Month

Men’s Health Month encourages men to focus on physical, mental, and social well-being. Throughout June, men are urged to set health goals and create a plan to achieve them. Men aged 15-65 are less likely than women to seek preventive care or have a primary care provider. Taking the first step by scheduling a visit with your primary care doctor can help identify needed screenings and build a foundation for long-term health. Prioritize mental health, manage stress, stay socially connected, and listen to your body. Men’s Health Month is a great time to take charge and commit to a healthier future.

Measure Your Risk

Forget the scale and BMI. A simple waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) measurement may predict heart disease risk in men more accurately than weight alone. Research shows that men with a higher WHR have a significantly increased risk of heart attack, even more so than weight or BMI alone. WHR reveals where fat is stored: excess abdominal (visceral) fat surrounds organs and is linked to inflammation, insulin resistance, and cardiovascular disease, while fat around the hips and thighs may be more protective. To calculate WHR, divide waist circumference by hip circumference. A ratio above 0.90 signals increased risk in men. WHR can improve through strength training, soluble fiber, microbiome support, and targeted metabolic support.

How Is Your Cardiovascular Health?

Did you know that many people have cardiovascular disease without experiencing any symptoms. Most people are not diagnosed until the condition worsens to the point where they have angina, a stroke or heart failure. Therefore, it is important to start taking steps towards a healthy heart and arteries today. Biofeedback is a great way to assess your cardiovascular system for early signs of disease. If found, the information can then be used to devise a specific program to improve your heart efficiency and arterial health before symptoms occur, or even if symptoms are present. Remember: Sometimes What You Don’t Know CAN Hurt You!

Maintaining Strength & Mobility After 30

After age 30, the body naturally begins to lose muscle mass and strength. This process, known as muscle degeneration, can affect balance, energy levels, metabolism, and overall physical health. A sedentary lifestyle can speed up muscle loss, making everyday activities more difficult over time. Strength training plays an important role in slowing this decline by building and maintaining muscle tissue. Regular resistance exercises, such as lifting weights or using resistance bands, improve strength, flexibility, and bone health. At Metabolik Fitness, our group classes provide structure and guidance from qualified trainers, helping participants learn proper technique and reduce the risk of injury.

Strength Beyond Muscle

When we think of men’s health, we often think of strength like lifting heavier, working harder, pushing through. But true strength also means resilience, adaptability and recovery. The nervous system controls how well the body handles stress, heals from injury and maintains energy. Chiropractic care supports that internal strength by improving communication between brain and body. When the system is balanced, performance and recovery both improve. Strong isn’t just about powering through. It’s about functioning well for the long haul.

Making Bathing Accessible

For seniors, an accessible tub is a game-changer in bathroom safety. Walk-in tubs provide an easy and safe way to bathe, eliminating the risk of stepping over high tub walls. With a low-entry threshold, seniors can safely enter and exit without fear of slipping. Many accessible tubs come with built-in grab bars, non-slip floors, and comfortable seating, offering added support and stability. Some even feature therapeutic jets for muscle relief. These tubs are designed to enhance independence, reduce the risk of falls, and offer peace of mind for seniors and their families, ensuring a safer, more enjoyable bathing experience.
