Mental Health Strategies for Colder Months

As the holiday season approaches, November and December often bring increased stress, financial strain, and reduced exposure to natural sunlight. These factors can contribute to declines in mood and overall well-being. Unlike December, November lacks statutory holidays, making it important to proactively support mental health. Taking a mental health day can be beneficial, especially when paired with frequent physical activity and social engagement, both enhance mood and resilience. Reduced sunlight can lead to lower Vitamin D levels, which are linked to depressive symptoms. Supplementation or light therapy (UV treatment) may help mitigate these effects and support emotional well-being.
