Electro-Therapeutics

Electro-Therapeutics provides Intelligent Microcurrent Therapy using the Electro-Equiscope.

This natural therapy will encourage the opening of the affected cell membranes, allowing vital nutrients to enter the cells while toxins are released. Energy production (ATP) is accelerated during, and following each session. This therapy restores the basic cellular functions necessary for the body to begin to heal itself. IMT is non-drug and non-invasive, and because it uses the same currents that naturally flow in the body, it is both safe and effective.

Intelligent Microcurrent Therapy is ideal for: Pain Relief, Increasing Range of Motion, Accelerating Injury Recovery, Brain Stimulation, Relaxation, Systemic Detoxification, Reflexology and any issues involving muscles, tendons, ligaments or bones.

IMT Decreases Inflammation & Pain by Increasing Circulation & Energy.

We also offer the Healthy Wave Mat, for use in our clinic and for purchase through our website. This therapeutic Mat Therapy provides 5 therapies in 1: PEMF, FAR Infrared, Photon, Crystal & Negative Ion.

We recommend the Superior Hydration of CERRA Water and serve it in our clinic and also have it available for purchase on our website. CERRA Water provides Alkaline, Hydrogen Water that includes Essential Minerals in a European-made, certified BPA-free pitcher.

We Play Kids Gym

WE PLAY KIDS GYM

We are a sensory friendly indoor play space and ALL kids are welcome.

Play equipment have been specially chosen with sensory processing and motor function in mind, similar to an occupational therapy gym.

WHAT DOES ‘SENSORY FRIENDLY’ MEAN?

This means that our gym and play equipment has been specially designed to provide multiple and varied opportunities for sensory input and processing. Safety is our main priority, and we have done our best to limit loud, obtrusive noises. We have also created a calming “Chill” area to help with relaxation if the sensory input becomes a bit much.

Sensory processing and motor function design, similar to an occupational therapy gym.

WHAT IS ‘SENSORY PROCESSING’?

Sensory processing is how the brain and nervous system integrate and respond to sensory signals from the environment. Signals are received through a person’s senses (touch, sight, taste, smell, sound), then processed by the nervous system and organized into appropriate responses. A simple example is touching something hot and pulling your hand away quickly.

Those that have sensory processing challenges may perceive sensory information differently, and their nervous system may have difficulty organizing the appropriate behavioural response. For example; a light may seem duller than typically perceived, a sound may be much louder than typically expected, or a t-shirt may seem scratchier than normal. As a result of these sensory inputs, the behavioural response of the individual may seem “unexpected” for the current situation.

Most of us have had moments or periods of sensory processing difficulties, however, some individuals are affected on a broader scale that may affect their daily living.

There are three main areas at We Play:
1. Get Moving
2. Be Chill
3. Get Messy

GET MOVING

Our ‘GET MOVING’ area is great fun with lots of opportunity for energy output and sensory input!

  • sensory swings
  • monkey bars
  • spinning equipment
  • climbing wall
  • jumping toys
  • imaginative and age appropriate toys & games
  • SNUG interactive play equipment – not available daily, please check our calendar for special SNUG days!

BE CHILL

Our ‘BE CHILL’ area has specialized multi-sensory equipment that is quiet and calming. Including fiber optics for visual input, vibro-acoustic equipment, and multi-sensory bubble tubes.

Be Chill, dark, quiet and calm room, featuring fiber optics, vibro-acoustic equipment, multi-sensory

GET MESSY

Our ‘GET MESSY’ area is a space designed for art and creativity, usually with a sensory focus in mind. From paint, crayons and play clay, to sand and water play; this is a space to create and get messy!

Super Life Acupuncture & Wellness Centre

At Super Life Wellness, we believe in holistic well-being. We offer several services to ensure you have the support and knowledge to be healthy physically and emotionally.

ABOUT US

Todd Hsueh
After graduating with a Masters in Chemical Engineering, I came to the realization that this was not where my passion was at. After seeing how Chinese medicine and acupuncture changed the health and well being of my family, I decided to devote the rest of my life to learn modalities of wellness. My motivation lies in the fact that I am able to contribute to these patients so they can live happy and healthy lives.

The real learning began after I got my certificate as a R.TCM.P. Since then, I have traveled to Taiwan, Los Angeles and other places to learn from acupuncturist masters. These masters have also traveled around the world to further master the art of acupuncture. With over 2000 years of history, different styles of acupuncture have emerged. I have learned different styles to accommodate for everyone, especially for those with a fear of needles. Now I’m glad to be in the City of South Surrey. My whole family has moved here and it’s a very welcoming city.

OVERVIEW OF SERVICES OFFERED

Initial Examination – Free
This is where we discuss any concerns with health and how to go forward. There may be questionnaires and examination of pulse.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture stimulates the flow of chi through thin, sterile needles. For more information on what acupuncture can treat, go to services -> acupuncture.

Chinese Herbs
We use Chinese herbs to manage your chi when you’re at home. Not all symptoms and illnesses may require Chinese herbs.

Acupressure
This is an alternative to acupuncture, without the use of needles. The practitioner would use their hand to apply pressure on meridians.

WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

Introduction to Acupuncture

Acupuncture uses thin needles to stimulate pressure points and promote healthy Chi (qi) flow. The beauty of acupuncture is that it promotes self-healing. With no substances entering your body, it is your own body doing the work, with no chemicals for the kidney to excrete. For examples on what acupuncture can treat, please refer to “what can acupuncture treat” and our “testimonies”

Definition of Chi

Chi is best described as vital energy that flows throughout the body. (Nature has Chi?). There are several ways of disrupting our Chi. Our diet, stress, amount of exercise and environment can positively and negatively affect Chi. Generally speaking, our body is capable of managing its own Chi. However, there are times when our bodies struggles to return to normal. This is where acupuncture comes in to guide your body in the right direction. * example, eating hot peppers?.

Science Behind Acupuncture

For those that are curious about the mechanisms behind acupuncture (and would enjoy a nice read), I have read recent scientific papers on acupuncture and will summarize them below in layman’s terms.

WHAT CAN ACUPUNCTURE TREAT?

Our expertise

Over the years, we’ve found certain diseases and symptoms to be suitable for acupuncture. Here are some of them below:

Acne, Allergy, Bell’s Palsy, Bodily Pain, Depression, Digestive Problems, Fatigue, Gynecologic disorders, Heel pain, High blood pressure, Infertility, Inflammatory Conditions, Men’s Health, Migraine, Vertigo

If your disease/symptom is not on the list, come in for a free consultation to see how we can better service you.

OUR METHOD

What makes us distinct

Our treatments are special. Instead of long needles, we use needles of 1.3cm in length. This is a very historical method of acupuncture that’s not taught in local schools of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It originates from the ancient text, the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine. Todd often travels to hone his acupuncture skills from masters all over the world.

We combine our acupuncture with professional FDA heated far infrared BioMat for all acupuncture treatments. We found this combination of modern technology with traditional acupuncture to be most effective. The far infrared stimulates blood flow and relaxes one’s body, amplifying the effect of acupuncture.

Diane Lee & Associates

The Clinic

ENGAGE, EXPERIENCE AND EMPOWER

Our mission is to help you, as a client, understand why your body is hurting, or why it won’t allow you to do the things you want to do, and then work with you to make the changes necessary to reach your goals. As a team, we collaborate to provide you the best possible care. Our motto is to ENGAGE, EXPERIENCE AND EMPOWER to help you live a healthier, more active life. We are located in South Surrey, BC.

About Us

At Diane Lee & Associates in White Rock/South Surrey, we continue to offer a functional approach and strive to be a centre of excellence with our goal being to help you achieve yours.

This often requires addressing the cause of your pain as opposed to merely treating your painful structures. This paradigm shift requires an understanding of how the whole body functions and how certain problems can impact other regions of the body. It also requires an understanding of how the things you feel, and believe, about your current experience can impact your function.

All of the physiotherapists at Diane Lee & Associates are experts in the physical diagnosis of movement impairments and have taken several post-graduate courses in their specialty. They work as a team, frequently consulting with one another to bring you the best care possible.

Ultimately, our goal is to help you change the way you use your body by initially creating an awareness of the things you are doing that are currently overloading structures and creating pain. We will provide you with the tools necessary (knowledge, control, flexibility & strength) to move/exercise in ways that create optimal loading and efficient, pain free movement.

By empowering you with the knowledge, movement and awareness necessary to make the changes in your own body, we are simply guides in your own healing process as you transform to live with a healthier, more active body. The greatest success occurs when you are an active participant in your treatment program and we do expect your commitment.

DR. PHIL ANDERSEN

My interest in helping animals started when I was a kid during my visits to my Grandparents’ farm in Mission, B.C.

I loved learning about all the different types of animals, and even thought that one day I’d have my very own farm with each type of cow, duck, chicken, pig, sheep, etc. that I had researched. Wow, how impractical! But, that’s where it all began for me.

My interest in animals and the desire to help them, along with a lot of time spent hitting the books, landed me in veterinary school at the University of Saskatchewan.

I studied intensely and was fortunate enough to gain an externship in veterinary medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where I was given recognition for my outstanding achievements.

I graduated from veterinary school with Great Distinction, meaning I was near the top of my class, and I also won awards in correlative medicine ( fancy way of saying that I looked at the animal as a whole and not just at the part that was the owie ), and in pharmacology.

Now was to come my real education. The stuff the books could not teach me. Practicing veterinary medicine in the real world without a net.

I began my illustrious career in a very small town in Saskatchewan. Lucky for me I didn’t need an alarm clock because the trains ran right outside my front door, never allowing me more than an hour or two of uninterrupted sleep at any one time. Time to move.

I settled in Langley and practiced there for many years before the pull of wanting to move on gripped me once again.

I decided to try my hand at being a traveling vet— also known as a locum—moving from clinic to hospital as needed. I learned a lot, and I met a lot of interesting pets and their human companions. But, the interest in starting my own practice intensified, especially over the past two years.

I am excited to announce that I have opened my own practice at The Shops at Morgan Crossing.

All Creatures Animal Hospital is now my permanent home. I bring to it everything I have learned; all my experiences, skills, knowledge, and expertise in medicine and in surgery to make your pet as healthy and happy as he/she can be.

Sincerely,

Phil Andersen, DVM

At All Creatures Animal Hospital, I’ve used my extensive experiencing working at other animal hospitals to inform my decisions in creating my own hospital from the ground up.
