A Cross Training Approach to Investing

Ask any personal trainer in the world and they will tell you that it is a waste of time to do the exact same exercise over and over again and expect to achieve desired fitness goals. Personal trainers tell their clients that they need a good mixture of weight training, cardio, stretching and interval training to achieve the best results. Investments need to be looked at the same way as fitness.

An appropriate mix of stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and alternative investments will achieve the best results. Personal trainers make their recommendations based on clients fitness goals and based on the goals the trainer gives the client a suitable workout routine. It is the same with investments. Based on a client’s financial goals an advisor would choose the appropriate mix of investments so that the client can achieve their goals.
