Starting a discussion about care needs with a senior loved one can be difficult. Deciding when to start the conversation is important. It is never too early to discuss what care might be needed and the desires of the person that will be receiving care. Nine out of 10 seniors want to remain in their home as they age and in-home care can help them. There are many options for in-home care, from the type of care services to the number of hours a week. Making plans before there is an emergency or sudden problem in the senior’s home helps alleviate stress for everyone.
Natural Factors CLA & Green Tea
A balanced diet and daily exercise, along with high-grade supplements, are your best bets for achieving your weight management goals. Natural Factors CLA Tonalin® provides the highest-quality CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) available and is sourced from safflower oil. It is a natural fat burner that works by revving up muscle metabolism and increasing lean muscle mass. Combine it with Natural Factors HerbalFactors® Green Tea for even more weight management benefits. Green tea extract supports healthy weight loss by decreasing the absorption of fat in the digestive tract and helps the body turn fat into energy without increasing your heart rate.
What is Probate?
Certain assets cannot be transferred without a Grant of Probate of the Will. The Application for Probate includes information about the estate’s assets and liabilities and about those who have an interest in the estate. Once issued, the Grant of Probate confirms that the Will meets the legal requirements and that the executor has the authority to carry out their duties. Your lawyer can advise you on whether to apply for a Grant of Probate and other steps that can be taken to avoid disputes and problems after the Grant of Probate is issued, such as keeping good records.
Treatment for Seasonal Allergies
Spring is finally here, and that means seasonal allergies will be on the rise. Seasonal allergies develop when the immune system overreacts to something in the environment, like mold spores or pollen. Do you have any of the most common symptoms – runny nose, sneezing, itchy & watery eyes, itchy sinuses, throat, or post-nasal drip? You are most likely experiencing allergies. Your pharmacist will be happy to discuss preventing seasonal allergies and minimizing the severity of your symptoms. They will help you choose the right medication for you, how it works and how to use it.

Will or No Will
Most Canadians do not have a Will, and of those that do, most say that it is not up to date. Once you have a Will in place, it is important to review it every 4 – 5 years, or anytime there is a major event in your family (marriage, divorce, grandchildren born) Most lawyers will review your will with you free of charge (contact them to confirm) and only charge if there are changes that need to be completed. Factors like finances, physical mobility, social network, health concerns, and safety in the home are all things to think about. If you decide to remain in your home, discuss your plans with your family or a trusted advisor. It’s important to prepare your home to ensure you can live comfortably and safely there, using various aids and tools to make things easier. In-home care can also provide much-needed day-to-day support, as well as transportation to appointments and gatherings.
