Ultrasonic For Acne & Congested Skin

Is your skin blemished by acne, blackheads and congestion? The Ultrasonic facial treatment is recommended for all skin types and is a drug-free, chemical-free and gentle alternative to traditional methods. Pores that have become blocked by oils create an environment for bacterial growth. The sound waves from Ultrasonic can dissolve and extract these oils, even if the congestion is deep under the skin. After treatment with a natural product, the ultrasound is used to create channels in the skin for better nutrient absorption. A blue LED lamp reduces any propionibacterium acnes left under the skin. Most people experience a considerable difference after only one treatment.

Regenerate Your Back with Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy in combination with injection therapy results in about 75% of chronic pain sufferers to become permanently pain-free. Chronic pain occurs in areas of the body that contain ligaments, cartilage or articular surfaces which typically have only 1/10th the circulation that is seen in other connective tissues. This makes them especially vulnerable to the effects of decreased oxygen utilization and aging, which further compromises circulation. When these areas become traumatized a significant amount of edema and inflammation only serve to further decrease circulation. Prolozone therapy with procaine, natural anti-inflammatory medications, vitamins & minerals and ozone gives the tissues what they need to heal. And as they heal, the circulation to the area is re-established.

Establishing Relationships with Nature

Ted Andrews, in his book “Nature-Speak”, deals with the importance of allowing nature into our lives. Developing our openness and communication with nature gives us the opportunity for inner guidance and answers to life’s questions. Spend quality time in nature identifying plants and trees and study their unique qualities. Quiet your mind, attune your senses, feel the earth, gaze at cloud formations, and listen. Greet a tree or animal. Read tales and myths of plants and animals. Honour and appreciate the natural world. Your connection with the spirit world will intensify.

Helping Children Have Healthy Smiles

The Canadian Dental Association recommends children start their education with healthy smiles by visiting a dentist to check for tooth decay, gum/brushing problems, and any orthodontic concerns. Treatment alternatives, including some needle-free anti-cavity developments, are discussed. Children who have extensive problems or who would find treatment difficult without deep sedation may be referred to a pediatric specialist.

“Spring Freshening” your Home

On the days when the sun is shining and warm breezes blow – take advantage of that time to freshen your home. Throw open the windows. If you can, wash your comforter/duvet. Let it tumble dry for a bit then finish it off outside in the sunshine. The same for your pillows, mattress covers, bed skirts and such. Your senses, sinuses, skin and lungs will thank you! Make up some herb infused vinegar to clean those surfaces that are harbouring the closed-up-house-nasties, or polish up the windows and let that beautiful sun shine in. Jennifer Fookes, RPh., BSc. An Ounce of Prevention for Runners

You know spring has arrived when runners appear outside! Pulled muscles, muscle tears, or worse can cause the running season to be over before it begins. Fascia is the layer of connective tissue between the muscle and the skin, and fascia tightness can restrict muscle movement and lead to muscle injury. Myofascial cupping massage treatment focuses on loosening up that fascial layer, allowing the muscles beneath to move more smoothly. Runners gearing up for the season or a fun run might consider adding cupping massage as part of their pre-race preparations to prevent injuries and unnecessary pain.

Don’t Sweat It

Sweating serves an important function, but for some it causes personal embarrassment and worry. There are options, such as FDA-approved BOTOX® Medical, to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and help resolve concerns. The Canadian Association of Medical Spas and Aesthetic Surgeons recommends that BOTOX® Medical should only be given by or under the direction of “a licensed and authorized health-care professional who is trained and qualified to provide Botox education and treatment.” Treatments can last up to 6 months and the cost often covered by private health care plans.
