Chiropractic for all Life Stages

Chiropractic care is used to restore proper function to the nervous system and aims to heal your body naturally by use of gentle spinal adjustments and conservative manual therapies. Chiropractic care is encouraged through all stages of life. Infants should have an initial gentle spinal adjustment to correct any trauma from birth and as they grow older, there is the inevitable falls and injuries. The elderly can be relieved of pain through adjustments by helping ease the tension brought on from common health ailments such as arthritis and inflammation in the joints, when other procedures are considered too risky due to their frail condition or medications they are on.

Product Review: Voxxlife Socks and Insoles

Many people find pain relief from wearing Voxxlife socks or insoles for conditions such as Morton’s neuroma. Morton’s neuroma is a thickening of the tissue around the nerves between the bases of the toes (usually between the third and fourth toes) that can cause a sharp, burning pain in the ball of your foot. Your toes may also sting, burn, or feel numb. It is more common in women and can be the result of wearing high heels or tight shoes. Voxxlife socks or insoles provide enhanced heel support and cushioning, slip prevention, and Voxx HPT® technology that increases strength and balance.

Cupboard Full of Supplements?

Over-supplementation is a growing health concern. Did you know that too much zinc can cause a copper imbalance? Symptoms of which can include fatigue, arthritis, and anemia. Vitamin C is being studied for the same effect. In an era of ‘fake news’, it is always disheartening to see clients who have relied on Google for supplement advice. A salesperson with product knowledge but no nutritional training isn’t ideal either. The contraindications with medications, ‘over-dosing’ on nutrients, and money wasted is staggering, and the individual may still have health issues. A properly trained health professional can help you navigate safe and effective supplementation.

Understanding Your Pain

The physiotherapists at Diane Lee & Associates are experts in the physical diagnosis of movement impairments and have taken several post-graduate courses in their specialty. They work to address the cause of your pain as opposed to merely treating your painful structures; by understanding how the whole body functions and how certain problems can impact other regions of the body. By not only treating you for your pain, but also empowering you with the knowledge to make the right changes in your own body, we are simply guides in your own healing process as you transform to live with a healthier, more active body.

Exercise to Boost Brain Power

Recent studies have shown that exercise can potentially help increase your brain’s capacity for learning, by creating new and larger neurons, as well as increased neuron connections, that can improve thinking and recalling (memories). The studies suggest that exercise seems to stimulate neurogenesis, which is the process of creating new neurons. Students who struggle with learning difficulties can experience stress and anxiety that may alter their learning capacity. Regular aerobic exercise can be part of a long-term solution to deal with stress and anxiety, and in turn boost the brain’s capacity to process and retain information.

Move More and Feel Better!

Many find it hard to stay active during the long winter days. Once spring arrives, aches and pains can stand in the way of carrying on as you remember. Joints, muscles, and tendons decondition rapidly. Often, a little bit of concerted effort can get you back on track. A proper diagnosis and treatment plan will outline realistic options. Non-surgical interventions are often sufficient. Recalcitrant problems may respond to precisely administered injections; ultrasound imaging and careful local anaesthesia make this well tolerated by virtually everyone. This smooth and effective treatment brings early and reliable improvement in pain, often allowing return to activity within days.
