Linden Pointe is a premium, master-planned senior living campus nestled in one of Winnipeg’s premier shopping, restaurant and recreational neighbourhoods. The Courtyards at Linden Pointe is part of our initial offering that presents a vibrant living experience for independent seniors; we are excited by the opportunity we have been given to pamper residents with modern amenities, comforts and services. The Courtyards is also designed to provide a little extra assistance that allows us to promote and maintain an active lifestyle for each and every one of our residents. We call it Brightwater Tailored Living™.

Have a Truck and a Heart of Gold? Let’s Talk!
Very soon the leaves will start to fall and the yard clean-ups will begin. While many people have compost bins, many more will need them trucked away. We’re looking for people with a sufficient vehicle to haul yard waste for seniors. A few bags of leaves feel a lot heavier when you’re over 55, so thanks to anyone who helps us with this.
Shopping Delivery Program
Regardless of age, we all need to eat. But those groceries can be heavy and the store can be busy and loud. Or you might not have time for it amidst all your other appointments and obligations. So let us shop on your behalf. Our members can phone or e-mail us Monday and provide us with a detailed shopping list and a store to go to. We will buy what you need and deliver it to you. We can even buy non-food items like yarn or cutlery. Maybe a gift for yourself or a loved one? And you’re not obligated to order every week. Some people even only order once to get that item from a store that’s too far from home. But slots are limited (another reason why our volunteers are so important) so contact us for more information.
Help Us Fight off Winter!
We’re Hiring and Accepting Volunteers!
Winter is coming and we won’t be caught unprepared. That’s why Services for Seniors is hiring able-bodied people to help clear driveways, sidewalks and walkways for seniors this winter. Still want to help but don’t have time for a job? We’re also accepting volunteers too! Being snowed in is inconvenient for the able-bodied but it’s downright terrifying for a senior. So contact us and see what openings we have.
Looking for Yard/Lawn Equipment
We are looking for donations of equipment for our lawn, yard and garden services. From simple rakes, snow shovels and garden tools to fancier stuff like lawn mowers and whipper snippers? Did you know that depending on the region, those can be called Weedwackers, Weed Eaters, Edgers, String Trimmers, Line Trimmers… nobody in the world can seem to agree what they’re called.
Hiring Housekeepers
Do you or anyone you know enjoy cleaning? We’re looking to hire Housekeepers so you can do what you love and be paid for it. Saskatoon Services for Seniors is looking for kind souls with good work ethic to go to seniors’ homes and do laundry, cleaning, and other related tasks. You won’t need to do any nursing-related tasks so it’s no medical or personal care knowledge is needed. Please inquire if interested.
Starting the Conversation
Starting a discussion about care needs with a senior loved one can be difficult. Deciding when to start the conversation is important. It is never too early to discuss what care might be needed and the desires of the person that will be receiving care. 9 out of 10 seniors want to remain in their home as they age and in-home care can help them. There are many options for in-home care, from the type of care services to the number of hours a week. Making plans before there is an emergency or sudden problem in the senior’s home helps alleviate stress for everyone.
Final Wishes – Cremation
Today, many Canadians are choosing cremation as an alternative to traditional burial. Although cremation may seem like the simpler choice, selecting cremation is just the first step in deciding how best to celebrate a life well lived. Just like burial, choosing cremation allows you to have a funeral or memorial service. Most people choose a cemetery setting for the final disposition of cremated remains. You can choose from a selection of keepsake urns, jewelry and memorial record packages, ensuring your loved one’s memory is with you forever.
