Archwood 55 Plus Class Registration

Registration for classes and expired memberships took place in September with online registration and on-site options. We had a very good turn-out but there is still some room left in many classes, so it is never too late. We can always pro-rate the class prices based on the number of classes left in the Fall session. Alternatively, if you would like to check out a single class, you can pay for a single session to see if it is a fit for you. You can also register online if you want to skip any line-ups. Still room in many classes like Chair Yoga, Yoga Fit and Flow, Functional Fitness, Tai Chi, Line Dancing, Low Impact Cardio and Art class, but please check as the bookings are on-going.

Is Your Cat’s Litter Toxic?

Since your cat’s litterbox is something he or she comes into contact with on a regular basis, it’s important to consider how safe the litter you’re using actually is. Each type of litter has its pros and cons. Clay litter contains silica, which can cause lung problems. Clumping litter can cause intestinal issues and blockages if your cat ingests it. Wheat, corn, pine, paper, or walnut shells cat litter: mostly safe, but could contain pesticides. Try to do some research to find out which litter is safest for you and your feline friend!

Foods Affect Feelings

What we eat can impact our mood, memory, and mental wellness. Our brains are filled with a variety of chemicals, hormones, and receptors that all react to the food we eat. In fact, serotonin is actually produced in our guts, and is directly impacted by what we eat. For example, the grumpiness we feel when we are very hungry can be combated by eating foods high in protein and fibre to keep us feeling full. Omega-3s and other brain-boosting amino acids can help with depression and improve mental wellness, while B vitamins can help us feel more energized.
