Housekeeping Services
Saskatoon Services for Seniors offers housekeeping services for all seniors in Saskatoon. Our staff is screened and fully insured. We are here to assist with many household cleaning services such as kitchens, bathrooms, laundry, dusting and wall washing. We only provide the services that you require and as such only have a one hour minimum for each appointment. We can provide regular weekly service, bi-weekly services or just when you need us. The fee involved is based on the seniors’ income and if cost is a barrier, though our donors we can usually overcome this barrier to be able to get seniors the help they need.

Naturopathic Approach to Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Did you know that April is IBS Awareness Month? IBS is one of the most common digestive disorders and can sometimes be one of the most confusing. Common triggers for IBS symptoms include stress, reduced gut biome diversity, food sensitivities/intolerances, and hormones. The condition is often diagnosed by ruling out other conditions and is frequently treated with pharmaceutical medications. Another option is to use naturopathic medicine to take a whole-system approach to managing the condition. This can involve individually tailored plans featuring botanicals, supplements, and enzymes, diet changes, and stress management techniques to address underlying health factors.
Take Care of Yourself
Providing long-term care for a loved one can be very taxing and time-consuming. With spring around the corner, we are all itching to leave our cozy winter hearths and get back to being active. By bringing in in-home elder care, you can take time to care for your health. Care for your loved ones frees up time for tackling your next challenge and helps ensure that you can enjoy the good things in life, going forward. Another Reason to Smile:
The Norwex® Adult Silver Care Toothbrush inhibits bacterial growth and buildup and self-sanitizes within hours of use! On contact with water, the silver on the unique bristle base releases active ions that eliminate up to 99.9% of the bacteria that cause plaque, cavities, and gingivitis. Includes a toothbrush and refill. Comparative tests between Silver Care and traditional toothbrushes show reduction level of Streptococcus mutant (the principal cavity-forming bacteria) on the brush! As a bonus add in our new Lysere™ Toothpaste with probiotics and/or Mouthwash with antioxidants to help nourish and balance the good bacteria and keep the bad bacteria at bay!
Make Social Interaction a Priority
Maintaining relationships and spending time with others is essential to our emotional and mental well-being. It can help prevent depression which affects 20 percent of the population over 70 years of age. Socializing also keeps the mind active and improvements are greater when the person is involved in fun interests with other people. Plan regular get-togethers with friends, such as a weekly lunch date or coffee with another senior or loved one. Scheduling social interactions give us something to look forward to on a regular basis. For those who are truly adventurous you can enjoy new experiences and meet new people by signing up for travel tours, book clubs, and much more at your local community centre.
