The Value of Self-Worth

Self-worth is often mistaken for self-esteem, yet the two qualities are quite different. Self-esteem is a measure of how you feel about yourself at any given time. Your self-worth is your right to be here on Earth. You are born worthy, not to be defined by your intelligence, looks, talent, or accomplishments. Each time you treat yourself kindly, listen to your personal boundaries, allow your needs to be met, and respect yourself, you are honouring your innate value. Seeing your mistakes and failures as a part of the journey allows you to learn and grow.

How Going Nuts Could Save Your Life

A recent study from the Harvard School of Public Health found that people who eat a handful of nuts per day are 20 percent less likely to die early than those who skip them. In addition to lower early death rates, the researchers found that people who consumed seven or more handful-sized servings per week saw a 25 percent reduction in death from cardiovascular disease, and an 11 percent reduction in death from cancers. Each nut has a unique profile and features different benefits: walnuts for the heart; almonds for weight loss and pistachios for brain health. Go nuts for nuts!

Improve Your Focus & Concentration

Very often, the brain and nervous system become fatigued and overloaded. Much like a computer receiving too much data all at once, the brain can become overwhelmed, slow down, or even crash. This can result in an inability to focus, brain fog, memory loss, ADD/ADHD-like symptoms, a “wired” feeling, or the inability to cope with daily life. The key to turning these conditions around is to give the body what it needs to strengthen specific areas of the brain and nervous system. This can be achieved naturally with specialized nutritional formulations, which will replenish the body and alleviate symptoms.

Chiropractic Care for Children

Why would a child need a chiropractic adjustment? Because they have spines and nervous systems, too! Being birthed, growing, learning to crawl, walking, and moving all have major impacts on the body. We are often diligent about getting our children in for other check-ups. Why not make sure their nervous system is functioning optimally, too? Babies and children don’t have the same musculature and ligament development, so they don’t need drastic or aggressive adjustments. Regularly adjusted children benefit from proper spinal and pelvic movement which allows the nervous system to work the best it can, giving them a great chance at a healthy and happy life!

Dehydration: A Serious Health Risk For Seniors

As you age, your sense of thirst diminishes. So even when your body needs to be replenished with water, you might not realize it. Because of that, many seniors do not drink enough liquids. By the time they are thirsty, it is already an indication of early dehydration. The consequences of dehydration are well known. Dehydration is a common cause of hospitalization among elderly people that can have serious health consequences. Water can get boring but don’t limit yourself – supplement with juices, milk and summer fruits containing high water content! Stay hydrated in the summer heat and drink up!

Freedom at Any Age

These days the mobility market is full of possibilities. Rather than being confined to the inside of your home or relying on friends and family to take you out, consider the freedom of a mobility scooter. Battery powered scooters have come a long way and are now more affordable than ever. They provide the freedom to get around, they conserve physical energy, and they also provide you access to places you may not have previously been able to go. Along with the freedom, mobility scooters offer an element of safety.
