Lyme Disease in Manitoba

Lyme Disease is an epidemic here in Manitoba. Lyme disease is spread from deer ticks that carry a bacteria known as Borrelia Burgdorferi. This bacteria weakens your immune system, allowing diseases to enter the body. One way to improve your immune system is with Bioresonance Therapy. This therapy involves sending healthy frequencies into your body. These frequencies increase the body’s energy and consequently improve your health. Many people are infected by ticks, but don’t suspect Lyme disease because they don’t recall being bitten. Dining with Dentures

The centre offers a 13-person outdoor hot tub that overlooks Winnipeg River, a newly renovated 10-person sauna, and three firepits in the courtyard that also overlook Winnipeg River.

Hold the Ketchup, Not the Mayo

We took a wrong turn a few decades ago when we blamed high cholesterol on the intake of fats in our diet. The consequential poor-quality, low-fat diets that followed this incorrect information, where fat was replaced by sugar, have been catastrophic to our health. To make it worse, the collective mindset created by the marketing of that incorrect information has been very hard to re-educate, even though it has long been proven wrong. The true dietary contributor to high cholesterol is sugar. To address high cholesterol from a dietary perspective, refined and simple sugars need to be drastically reduced, and the intake of foods high in omega 3 fats, from healthy, unrefined sources, should be increased.

Trichotillomania – There is Hope!

Trichotillomania (pronounced tric-o-til-lo-mane-e-ah), also called hair-pulling disorder, is a mental disorder that involves recurrent, irresistible urges to pull out hair from your scalp, eyebrows, or other areas of your body, despite trying to stop. This condition eventually leaves bald patches on the targeted area. Trichotillomania is a baffling compulsive anxiety disorder for which there is no proven cause. People who pull out their hair might think they are alone and suffer in silence, and many will deal with depression and suffer from low self-esteem. Two methods of effective treatment are behavioural therapy and medications, which are generally used in combination.

Staying Healthy After Menopause

Two major health conditions that can affect women after menopause are osteoporosis and heart disease. To protect yourself against osteoporosis, take 1,200 mg of calcium per day, along with 800 to 2,000 IU of vitamin D daily if you are over 50 years old (be sure to talk to your doctor). Stay active, specifically with weight-bearing exercises, stop smoking, avoid caffeine, and eat a well-balanced diet. Smoking cessation, healthy eating, and exercise can all help to protect you against heart disease as well. Monitoring your blood pressure, reducing stress, and watching your weight are also important.
