Dentures and Dry Mouth

Dry mouth is a condition that involves the salivary glands not producing enough saliva to adequately keep the mouth moistened. This lack of saliva can alter the fit and comfort of dentures, since saliva helps dentures retain their suction and stay in place and also has a lubricating effect that keeps dentures from rubbing on the gums and creating sores. Those who take certain medications, are older, use tobacco and alcohol, or snore while they sleep, are more susceptible to dry mouth. If you’re experiencing dry mouth symptoms as a denture-wearer, contact your denturist to discuss your options.

Vibroacoustic Therapy

Dr. Lee Bartel’s TEDx talk at Collingwood, Ontario gives an excellent overview of the current state of vibroacoustic medical research. Dr. Bartel explains how scientifically developed sound played through Vibroacoustic devices helps reduces the symptoms of Fibromyalgia pain, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Depression, and increase blood flow. The Sound Oasis Vibroacoustic Therapy System plays back nature, music and sleep therapy sounds with Delta, Alpha or Theta brainwaves to coax your brain to match these frequencies, thus entering states of sleep, relaxation or renewal. Vibroacoustic Therapy provides massage therapy to muscles and joints that hand/mechanical massage can not reach.

Testimonial: A Younger, Fresher Look

When I first started treatments, I was skeptical about how much change I would notice. After several sessions, my skin had a healthier look, the pinched look of my upper lip had almost disappeared, and the skin under my eyes was tightening up. By the end of 12 sessions, I really noticed a difference around my eyes and upper lip. The rosacea around my nose and chin has also almost been eliminated. I have been to one follow-up session and plan to come back every 4-5 months. I’m 60 and am told I look more like 45! – L. Bellamy

Allergies & Bio-Resonance

The bio-resonance method has become well-known for its ability to treat allergies swiftly and effectively. Word of its obvious success has rapidly spread amongst clients, and consequently, many allergy sufferers are seeking out the practices of bio-resonance therapists. This is certainly attributable to the fact that the number of people suffering from allergies has been steadily increasing for years. This includes allergies to food, animals, pollen, fragrances, and various toxic substances. A bio-resonance therapist will search for the allergens triggering your symptoms and then work to alleviate those symptoms using frequency therapy. Book a complete comprehensive test.

Flashing Lights or Sudden Floaters?

Seeing flashing lights or floaters can be a cause for concern. They’re caused by changes in the vitreous fluid which occupies the posterior chamber of the eye. This jelly-like fluid, which interphases with the sensory retina at the back, wants to shrink and liquify with aging, causing changes to the vitreous body as well as a traction on the retina. These changes produce the effects seen as flashes of lights or small floating spots moving in the field of vision. A more serious consequence would be a curtain which doesn’t float but covers a part of the visual field. In either event, they should be investigated with a professional eye exam.

Smell The Roses!

Spring is in the air! Wouldn’t it be great if you could smell it? Studies show that smokers lose some of their ability to smell. That can make life a lot less pleasurable. If you lose your sense of smell, you can’t appreciate the scent of spring flowers or freshly mowed lawn. Eating becomes a lot less rewarding too, since aroma contributes a great deal to the flavor of food. Life could even become more dangerous, since you may be less able to detect the odor of a gas leak or a house fire. There is some good news, however: Quit smoking and your sense of smell quickly returns.

The Obstacle is The Way

How many times have we avoided doing something because someone or something placed an obstacle in our path? Likely more times than you want to admit. Here’s the thing. It doesn’t matter whether the obstacle is mental, physical, lacking a particular skill, or a limiting belief. None of these is true. How is it that a mountain can be moved with a belief the size of a mustard seed? That mountain IS the limiting belief we have about ourselves and the purpose of the obstacle. When we encounter obstacles we allow ourselves to discover what we are made of. To reveal and break free of self-sabotaging behaviours. This month we take on the obstacles in our lives as we develop tactics to overcome them.

Is Food Affecting Your Mood?

Did you know the food you’ve been eating could be contributing to your anxiety, depression, or other mental health struggles? You probably already know that sugar, caffeine, and alcohol are highly likely to affect your mood and behaviour, but food sensitivities can also create imbalances in key chemicals in the brain and gut. If you’re eating foods that cause you digestive issues, low energy, increased cravings and sleep problems, it could be due to food sensitivities. This doesn’t mean you need to avoid these foods long term, but it’s an important piece of the puzzle when uncovering the root cause of your mental health struggles.

The Painless Facelift

A microcurrent facial is often referred to as a “natural” facelift. This safe and painless facial helps erase fine lines and wrinkles, while firming your skin and defining your features. A microcurrent facial emits extremely low-voltage electrical currents (hence, ‘micro’ current), which mirror your own body’s electrical currents, on a cellular level to repair damaged skin and stimulate collagen and elastin production. Cosmetic microcurrent is beneficial for improvement in the appearance of aged and slackened skin, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, dark circles and puffiness, enlarged pores, and muscle tone.
