Is Your Retirement Plan Complete?

Are pre-arranged funeral arrangements missing from your retirement plan? Here are three reasons to make pre-arranged plans that fit your personality and values, no matter how your lifestyle changes in the years to come: 1. Life insurance does not cover the cost of funerals. Planning helps pay for the full cost before your death. 2. Funeral planning is part of your legacy for your children. With planning, you have peace of mind knowing that your children are protected from certain monetary pressures. 3. Inflation affects lifestyle and funeral plans. We are here to help. Call us to book a consult with one of our pre planning professionals.

Optimize Your Golf Game!

Have you taken that first swing of the day and felt like things just aren’t moving right? Whether you are late for your tee time, focused on your first big drive, or catching up with your friends, it is easy to forget the importance of a good warm up. Your warmup can be the difference between a great day on the course, or a frustrating day with fifteen bogies and a strained rotator cuff. Even before trying your warmup swings, you should start with a routine of stretching and mobility exercises. This includes warming up your shoulders, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, hip mobility…and gets the blood pumping!

Composting: Enhancing the Environment

A healthy environment is crucial for our overall well-being and vitality, as it directly impacts our daily lives. One effective method to enhance our environment is through composting, which offers numerous environmental benefits. By composting, we can significantly reduce waste production. For instance, in the City of Prince Albert, a staggering 40% of landfill-bound waste comprises organic material that could instead be transformed into compost, thereby averting the generation of methane gas and harmful leachates within the landfill. Embracing composting practices not only minimizes waste but also contributes to a healthier planet and a more sustainable future.

If you’re having a spa day, don’t forget about your feet!

Coping with Loss

When your loved ones reach a certain age, deaths and funerals become common place. Dealing with these losses can take a toll. Funerals play an important part in honouring and remembering the life of someone who was important to you. The living can come together, support each other and share their grief. If your loved one has recently attended a funeral, talking about what they liked or did not like about it, may lead to not only discovering what their wishes are for their funeral, but can help them cope with the loss they have just experienced.

Starting the Conversation

Starting a conversation about suicide with someone you’re concerned about can be daunting. Ensure a distraction-free, private setting and allocate time for a thoughtful discussion. Prioritize safety and promptly call emergency services if the person shows signs of self-harm or endangering others. It’s crucial to approach the topic of suicide directly, displaying empathy and without judgment, as it grants permission for the person to express their emotions and share their feelings openly. By creating a safe space for them, you can offer support and understanding, potentially helping them find the help they need.
