The New Way to Discipline Your Child

Co-regulation is a more effective parenting strategy compared to traditional parenting practices. Co-regulation focuses on empathy, open communication, and understanding resulting in stronger parent-child relationships. Unlike conventional discipline, co-regulation acknowledges emotions, encourages self-expression, and supports a child’s development of self-control. By providing guidance and support rather than punishment, co-regulation creates a nurturing environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional well-being in children, ultimately strengthening the parent-child bond. Check out our website to register for a 3-part parenting group on co-regulation coming soon!

Seasons Greetings: Tax Benefit Opportunities

“As the year draws to a close, it’s a time to reflect on gratitude and generosity. I wish you joy and cheer this season. Remember, amidst the festivities, there may be untapped opportunities to ensure financial wellness. As a disability tax specialist, I encourage you to explore potential tax benefits available to you. Let this season be not only about celebration but also about securing your financial future. May the holidays bring you comfort, and may the new year shine light on possibilities for a more prosperous tomorrow. Wishing you and your loved ones a season filled with happiness, while keeping your financial well-being in mind.”

Fun Winter Activities for Older Adults

As outdoor picnics and waterfront walks yield to winter, the season beckons with a host of delightful activities for family and friends. The Courtyards of Linden Pointe suggests crafting hot cocoa jars—a charming gift or comforting treat with layered ingredients like cocoa powder, powdered milk, sugar, salt, and marshmallows. Transforming leftover jars into DIY snow globes adds a personal touch with distilled water, glycerin, glitter, and perhaps a mounted photo. Embrace the warmth of card or board game nights, fostering laughter and connection. Baking classic winter sugar cookies becomes a joyous bonding experience, whether with family, friends, or neighbors. Winter offers endless opportunities for shared enjoyment and creativity.

Handling The Holidays

Whatever holiday you celebrate this season, even if you’re surrounded by family and friends, it can be stressful. Making sure that your body and mind can handle stress is the best gift that you can give yourself. One of the best ways to improve your overall health and stress-handling ability is through Bioenergetics. Bioenergetics uses computerized testing and treatment to effectively determine and treat any imbalance or weakness in the body that is preventing you from achieving both optimal stress management and improved health. This holiday season, make sure that stress isn’t an unwanted gift that you can’t give back.
