Music is a valuable form of nonverbal expression, speaking for us when we are at a loss for words. Music touches us and affects us on several levels, often all at once: emotional, physical and cognitive. For example, has there ever been a time when you were feeling incredibly sad and by some coincidence a song came on the radio that matched just what you were feeling? The right music at the right time has a way of touching the heart; It is our companion and we do not feel so alone.
