Music and Motivation

Music is one of the best motivators you can use to focus your attention, enhance your mood, or to get your mind and body moving. Research has shown that music can stimulate your brain and release more dopamine, the feel-good hormone, into your body. So whether you’re swamped with work, studying for an exam, or trying to get the house clean, music can be one of your greatest allies. Your own favourite upbeat playlist can not only lift your spirits, but it can enhance your senses so that your recall for facts, figures and important detail is engaged.

Can Everyday Activities Cause Hearing Loss?

Every day we are exposed to noise that can contribute to hearing loss. The risk of damaging your hearing increases with the sound intensity, not the loudness of the sound, which is measured in decibels (dB). Examples of everyday activities, and their corresponding decibel levels:
• Normal conversation – 60 dB
• City traffic (from inside car)-80-85 dB
• Listening to music on your smartphone, especially at maximum volume-105–110 dB
• Standing beside/near sirens-120 dB
Noise above 85 dB over a prolonged period may start to damage your hearing. Learn how to protect your hearing health!

The Little Miracle Enzyme!

Proven to be a safe and effective natural alternative to NSAIDs (drugs like aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen), Serrapeptase breaks down long protein chains into amino acids that the body needs. It helps to reduce pain and swelling associated with osteoarthritis, joint pain, carpel tunnel syndrome, and post-operative swelling. It even thins out mucous which in turn eases chronic sinusitis. Serrapeptase should be a delayed release or enteric-coated capsule taken on an empty stomach. This allows the Serrapeptase to pass through the stomach to the small intestine, where the enzyme is then released.

Benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Did you know hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is used around the globe by world-class athletes and celebrities like LeBron James, Tom Brady, Justin Bieber, Floyd Mayweather, and Keanu Reeves for its improved healing effects? By increasing stem cell circulation, lowering inflammation, and decreasing recovery times, HBOT helps athletes stay on top of their game longer than ever. Others often take advantage of this therapy because it increases their collagen, improves their skin’s condition, and increases their metabolism, helping them to stay fit and trim. This affordable treatment can also improve brain function and help with sleep to improve daily life.

Rhythm from the Inside Out

Digestion, blood pumping through our veins, and breathing are just a few of the functional rhythms inside us that we rely upon to live. When we are unwell, we sometimes say that we are feeling ‘out of sorts’ or ‘out of sync’; it is a bit like losing one’s rhythm. We know when we have found it again because we feel more ‘in the groove’. Music therapy can be helpful in re-discovering that intrinsic rhythm when retrieving it ourselves is a struggle (as with mood and social cognitive disorders; rehabilitation from brain injury, stroke, or heart attack; cerebral palsy; Huntington’s disease; etc.).

Micro-Needling for Beautiful Skin

Proper functioning of our skin cells is the foundation of healthy skin, and healthy skin is beautiful skin! As our outermost defence layer, our skin is susceptible to damage: scars caused by acne and burns, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, and of course wrinkles and fine lines. Micro-needling reduces wrinkles, pore size, and acne scars by treating the root of this damage. During a treatment, special micro-needles are used to create thousands of micro lesions in the dermis, and this stimulates growth factors that induce collagen and elastin production in the skin, improving the function of the cells and thus the texture and appearance!
