Healthy Aging Starts with Hearing Health

As we age, regular health screenings become increasingly important—and hearing should be part of that routine. Hearing loss affects many adults over 50, yet it often goes untreated for years. Research continues to show connections between hearing health, cognitive wellness, social engagement, and overall quality of life. A comprehensive hearing assessment can establish a baseline, identify changes early, and provide solutions that help you stay active and connected. September is an excellent time to prioritize preventive health measures. Scheduling a hearing test today can help support healthier aging and keep you engaged in the conversations and activities you enjoy.

Dental Insurance Math

When I went to school, 50 + 60 = 110. Things have changed; we now have something new: insurance math. Often clients will come in with dual coverage. Logically, if the percentages add up to more than 100%, there would be no personal balance; not so with new insurance math. Very often there is an unexpected balance left over; the calculations differ for each carrier. Federal CDCP and Provincial Disability are even weirder; my quotes just got harder, and I am tempted to add “Could be totally wrong” at the bottom. Contact us for your denture needs.

Living Well

September is Arthritis Awareness Month, reminding us that staying active and connected can help support joint health and overall well-being. At our independent seniors home, residents enjoy opportunities to stay moving through walks, gentle fitness classes, and social activities that encourage mobility and confidence. Healthy meals, supportive neighbours, and an active lifestyle can make everyday living more enjoyable. If arthritis affects your comfort or mobility, speak with your healthcare provider about strategies to manage symptoms safely. Together, we can support independence, comfort, and quality of life every day with encouragement, friendship, and practical choices that help you thrive longer.

Companionship for Seniors

Companionship is vital for seniors’ health and well-being. As we age, social isolation can increase the risks of depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline. Regular interaction with compassionate caregivers or loved ones boosts emotional health, reduces stress, and supports physical vitality. Studies show seniors with strong social bonds often live longer, healthier lives. At Comfort Keepers, we prioritize meaningful companionship, offering personalized care that fosters connection and joy. Whether through conversation, shared activities, or simply being present, our caregivers help seniors thrive—because no one should face aging alone. Contact Comfort Keepers and allow us to help enrich your life holistically, emotionally, mentally, and physically.
