Hear Every Precious Moment

This Father’s Day, give Dad something that truly improves the quality of life: better hearing. Many men ignore the early signs of hearing loss, from turning up the television to struggling in conversations, but untreated hearing issues can affect relationships, mental health, balance, and overall well-being. A professional hearing check is quick, painless, and an important part of men’s health care, just like regular eye exams or blood pressure checks. Modern hearing aids are discreet, comfortable, and designed to keep fathers connected to family moments that matter most. Encourage Dad to hear every story, laugh, and memory clearly this Father’s Day.

Release Old Patterns

In Biofield Tuning, “stuck energy” refers to areas in the body’s energy system that are holding tension, imbalance, or unresolved experiences. This is often experienced as fatigue, emotional reactivity, or a feeling of disconnection. By using sound and vibration from tuning forks, a clear and coherent signal is introduced, helping the body to recognize and gently reorganize these areas. As the biofield begins to shift, it can release what has been held, returning to a more natural and balanced rhythm. This process supports subtle yet meaningful changes, inviting a deeper sense of ease, clarity, and connection within yourself over time.

Sugaring for Hair Removal

Sugaring is a completely natural hair removal process that is very popular in Europe. The warm paste consists of just three ingredients: lemon juice, sugar, and water. There are no additives or cloth strips involved, which makes it more environmentally friendly than waxing. Sugaring can help reduce ingrown hairs because it gently removes dead skin cells and removes hair in the natural direction of growth, which helps reduce irritation and ingrown hairs. Many people prefer sugaring because it is gentle on sensitive skin and leaves the skin smooth for weeks. Different hair removal methods work better for different skin and hair types. Mariia will consult with you and recommend the best method for your individual needs.

Get your Hearing Checked!

Most people with hearing loss can benefit from daily use of properly chosen and fitted hearing aids. Current hearing aid technology is very sophisticated and effective. A trial period of several days with hearing aids allows you to experience amplification. Your hearing care professional will coach and explain the process as you go. If you suspect hearing loss, reach out to your local Hearing Care Experts for help with your hearing and have your hearing tested. We recommend that all adults over fifty years of age have a baseline hearing test. Contact us for a complimentary hearing test and consultation.

Manage Symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive, neurodegenerative disorder affecting the central nervous system, causing movement problems often accompanied by non-motor symptoms like sleep disturbances and depression. While there’s currently no cure, the following can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life. •Medications can help increase dopamine levels in the brain, which can help alleviate motor symptoms. •Therapies can help improve movement, balance, and communication skills. •Lifestyle Adjustments like exercise, a healthy diet, and stress management. Let Comfort Keepers help by getting your loved one out exercising, assisting with creating healthy meals, and being there for companionship and friendship as this disease progresses.

House Rich but Cash Poor?

Home ownership and property taxes are becoming more expensive. Until recently, seniors had the option to defer their property taxes for a relatively low interest rate. That has now changed with the rate increasing to Prime Rate +2%. Coupled with the increase in property taxes, this can add up to a high extra cost. Instead of deferring property taxes, you can pay them and yourself with a Home Equity Solution. With the significant appreciation in home values over the past few years, we now have more equity in our houses to use and enjoy. Contact me today to find out more.

Denture Cleaning

Cleaning advice from my clients and my Dad. His advice: Do the simplest thing first to solve a problem. Start with over-the-counter denture tablets. Double the concentration if you don’t see results in a week; it won’t hurt the plastics or metal. Use a soft sponge or cloth to remove debris, not a toothbrush or toothpaste. In the lab, I use a small disposable bristle brush. No knives or sandpaper to scrape stuff off. Put a facecloth in the sink just in case you drop them. Beware of homemade remedies; no bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Contact us for all your denture needs.

Connections Matter on Father’s Day

Father’s Day offers a poignant reminder of the vital role mental health plays in the lives of our aging parents. For seniors residing in independent living homes, the benefits extend beyond physical care. These communities foster crucial social interactions that can stave off the loneliness and depression often faced by those living alone. Friendships formed in these environments provide emotional support, joy, and a sense of belonging. Celebrating Father’s Day in such a setting underscores the importance of a strong support network. By prioritizing companionship and mental well-being, we honour our fathers not just with gifts, but with the invaluable gift of connection.
