Thanks to the combined efforts of our community, everyone is looking forward to the opening! The exceptional services and supports for loved ones and their families will continue to be essential components of care. Without the compassionate caring of volunteers and the generosity of donors in the community we would never have been able to reach this important milestone. Admissions for residential hospice will primarily come from people in our community who, for whatever reason, are unable to be supported at home. Supporting people whether at home, in hospital or in residential hospice care will continue to be the foundation of our work. The investment of time and energy in the development of the clinical program and identifying the volunteer support roles needed for this residential hospice care is ongoing and we know that volunteer supports are essential for hospice palliative care to be exceptional.
