Whenever possible go for a walk, enjoy a swim, discover yoga, embrace tai chi. Your options are endless and the benefits are great. Moderate activity (150 min/week) throughout the year can be the biggest challenge, yet the greatest aid in falls prevention. You also have to maintain good balance, and have a strong core. For those with mobility issues, our community has great supports and resources dedicated to assisting you with healthy aging, much like Finding Balance’s Everyday Exercises for Older Adults, Red Deer PCN’s Strong and Steady Program and the Golden Circle’s Fitness classes.
