The Sleep/Pain Connection

Struggling to sleep at night is frustrating and can lead to health problems. Like a spider web, with its main branches and sub links, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) views sleep and pain as having an interwoven relationship. When you experience ongoing disordered sleep patterns it can lead to painful conditions, whether they be physical and/or mental in nature. When you are dealing with painful conditions like back pain, headaches, arthritis, sciatica, fibromyalgia, and even depression it almost always affects your quality of sleep. In addition to addressing pain, acupuncture has been shown to improve sleep and help treat insomnia.
