In Colombia, Dr. Barreto was trained as a medical doctor, then went on to specialize in alternative medicine, studying homeopathy, acupuncture, and a variety of other modalities. He worked for over fifteen years as a family physician, providing mainstream as well as alternative health care. In that time, he learned the importance of taking the time to see patients holistically (spirit, mind and body) and that a healthy lifestyle is fundamental in the prevention, treatment and recuperation from pain and illness.
