What is Neural Therapy?

Neural therapy is a method of diagnosing and treating illness and pain caused by disturbances of the body’s electrophysiology. These electrical disturbances, called “interference fields,” are manifestations of cell membrane instability and typically trigger abnormal autonomic nervous system responses. Interference fields may be found in scars, autonomic ganglia, teeth, internal organs, or other locations where local tissue irritation exists (Dr. R. Kidd). Neural Therapy uses local and under the skin injections of Procaine or Lidocaine in specific areas of the body. It is called “German Acupuncture” because it was developed by two German physicians who were brothers, Drs. Ferdinand and Walter Huneke, around 1920. At Nature Doctors, the naturopaths and doctors are trained in this technique and they have excellent results in chronic pain, sport injuries, arthritis and other conditions.
