Yin: Find Your Quiet Place

The perfect balance to a hectic (yang) life of busyness and anxiety, yin gives you time to slow down, breathe, feel the body, and be present. It increases circulation, improves flexibility, and regulates energy flow as it targets yin tissues – ligaments, tendons, fascia – with long-held (3-5 minutes) passive floor poses focusing on the lower part of the body. Three rules of yin yoga are: come to an appropriate pose for your body today; remain in stillness; and remain for time. There are many variations to the postures, and no flexibility required to participate.
