Q: I’m going on a scuba diving vacation next month. I’m also getting more far-sighted and I’m not sure if I’m seeing as well as I would like for diving. What are my vision correction options? A: It would be nice, and likely safer, if you can see your gauges and paperwork clearly when you’re on an expedition. You’ve got a few options. If you’re able, disposable contact lenses would be the most functional and least expensive. You can wear them with your diving mask. Additionally, some contact lenses have built-in UV protection. Another option is having prescription lenses made for your dive mask, but you may be limited to which masks you can use, and you’d have to bring other glasses on the boat. Thirdly, you can think about laser vision correction. There’s not enough space here to discuss that, but you’re really short on time for that. Also, far-sightedness is generally much more difficult to correct with laser surgery that near-sightedness.
Break the Chronic Pain Cycle
The reason chronic pain and degeneration only occur in joints and ligaments instead of other tissues, and why older people don’t heal as reliably as younger people do, has to do with decreased oxygen utilization. When there is trauma, the edema and inflammation cause a further localized decrease in oxygen utilization, which serves as a foundation for chronic pain and degeneration. The chronic pain leads to a further decrease in oxygen utilization. Break that cycle with ozone therapy, which maximizes oxygen absorption, so the cells and tissues can begin to do what they usually do so well – heal themselves.

Get Your Greens
Spring is just around the corner, and the timing is perfect to start adding more colours into your diet. Leafy green vegetables contain many important macro and micronutrients. In 1 cup of broccoli or kale, there is actually 3 grams of protein! Try adding vegetables such as spinach, kale, Brussels sprouts, and cabbage to your salad. These vegetables will not only add flavour and a richer colour to your meal, but also drastically increase the amount of vitamins A, C, and K, which help with immune function and vision, decrease cholesterol, and assist in synthesis of protein and the binding of calcium for bone health.

Heal Yourself – Diabetes Included!
The human body is not designed to be ill. Health issues largely occur because of the consumption of a damaging diet. Correcting your diet to one that more closely follows what your human genome expects allows your body to heal to the extent that it can. It doesn’t matter if the health issue is physical or mental, it will likely respond to a corrected diet. No counting calories, feeling hungry, doing cleanses, juicing, or consuming nutriceuticals required, just eating REAL food and providing the nutrients that your body requires to heal and THRIVE. Eat like your life depends on it, because it does!
Plaques and Alzheimer’s
According to Rudy Tanzi, the most renowned researcher of Alzheimer’s disease, half of people become patients of either kind of Alzheimer’s disease by age 85, and 95% of people become patients by age 110. Before the onset of the disease, the beta amyloid protein plaques accelerate the formation of tau protein plaques that kill brain cells eventually. So, removing beta amyloid protein from your body can help prevent you from suffering from both kinds of Alzheimer’s disease, unless there are already too many tau protein plaques in your brain. Research ways to remove beta amyloid protein from your body to help protect your brain.
Building Bone Density
As you age, your bones become thinner and less dense. This can make you more susceptible to injury. There are numerous things that you can do to slow down this process, such as through proper diet and exercise. Eating calcium-rich foods, such as dairy products, leafy vegetables, fish with bones, and legumes, can help. Exercises that are load or weight bearing, such as walking, jogging, using elliptical machines, and dancing, also can aid in building bone density. Be sure to consult your doctor before beginning any exercise programs.
Save Yourself from “Tech-Neck”
You see it everywhere. People stooped over their phones, tablets, and computers. Heads pushed forward. They know it’s no good for their posture, but they have no idea how much damage is being done every day. That slumped posture cuts off blood supply to the spinal cord, creates chronic pain in your neck and shoulders, and begins to form a spectacular hump on your back. Not only that, but chronically poor posture can cause breathing problems and poor sleep, which will ultimately set you up for more disease, more fatigue, and faster aging as you get older. Tackle it head-on before it becomes a long-term problem.
