March 8 is International Women’s Day
The Government of Canada’s theme for International Women’s Day 2023 is Every Woman Counts. Speaking of counting – we have a very active female contingent at the Golden Circle! 83% of our staff are female and of our 1356 members in 2022, 70% were female.
International Women’s Day is a reminder that all women, from all ages and walks of life, have a place in every aspect of Canadian society, including in the economic, social and democratic spheres.
Let’s celebrate the successful women around us, reminding today’s youth and girls that their dream is within reach. An important aspect to us at the Golden Circle which ties into International Women’s Day is equality. Equality is a must-have and is something we strive for here at the Golden Circle. We want to be a place where everyone is included, where there is something for everyone, and everyone feels like they belong!
Share a Meal
One way that we like to bring people together is through our in-house dining – sharing a meal with others is always a lot of fun. We’ll be celebrating International Women’s Day with a special lunch! If you can’t make it down on the 8th, we serve meals on average three days per week. Come in for a breakfast, soup and sandwich or a hot lunch meal all made fresh here in our own commercial kitchen! Pick up a monthly calendar in our resource centre in the lobby at 4620 47A Avenue in Red Deer or call us at 403-343-6074 to request that we email you one!
