Dentures and Dry Mouth

Dry mouth is a condition that involves the salivary glands not producing enough saliva to adequately keep the mouth moistened. This lack of saliva can alter the fit and comfort of dentures, since saliva helps dentures retain their suction and stay in place and also has a lubricating effect that keeps dentures from rubbing on the gums and creating sores. Those who take certain medications, are older, and use tobacco and alcohol are more susceptible to dry mouth. If you’re experiencing dry mouth symptoms as a denture-wearer, contact your denturist to discuss your options.

Acupuncture for Migraine Headaches

Migraine headaches can greatly impact people’s lives, and many people who suffer with migraine headaches look for relief using prescription medication. Studies have shown that acupuncture may be a safe and side-effect-free alternative or complement to prescription medication, as it can help to alleviate migraine symptoms, both in severity and frequency, as well as potentially prevent migraines. It does so by increasing blood circulation, releasing pain-relieving chemicals, and relaxing the muscles. If the root of your migraines is active myofascial trigger points, it’s a good idea to find a certified Traditional Chinese Medicine pain management practitioner who can help.

Bioenergetics And Women’s Health

Every year at this time women are reminded to focus on their health, but in reality, women should be taking charge of their own physical and mental well-being every day. A good first step is to find out how well your body is functioning so you can target any areas that need assistance. One of the best ways to accomplish this is through Bioenergetics. This non-invasive computerized analysis determines underlying imbalances in organs and tissues that could contribute to unwanted health conditions. If an imbalance is found Bioenergetics can then help to stimulate the correction of the affected organ or tissues to help your body function at its best.

These essential oils can be diluted and added to Kombo butter, which is very rich in myristoleic acid and has been found to reduce inflammation and soothe pain.

Physio for Hip Pain

Hip pain can have various causes, including arthritis in older people and repetitive movements in younger, athletic people. Many parts of the body impact the hips and all must be considered when designing a physio program to help reduce and even eliminate hip pain in some cases. Your physio program will depend on the source of your hip pain and will ultimately focus on relieving pain and improving functionality, balance, and range of motion. Exercise is extremely beneficial for anyone who is suffering from hip. Gently opening up the hips helps strengthen muscles and improve range of motion so be sure to stick to your exercise program between physio treatments.

To Do or To Be – That Is The Question

Come fall, our to do lists become expansive and over -flowing beckoning us to address that which we’ve put off for some time in order to enjoy an expansive summer. It can be overwhelming yet oddly comforting to check off each to do item on our list only to discover there is no shortage of more. To be lists are equally important as they allow us to shift out of our heads and spend the quality time with ourselves, nature, music, creativity and the people that fill our hearts. This calms down our nervous system. Taking the time daily to do & to be, creates harmony and balance in our lives.

Dentures & Weight Loss

It may come as a surprise to you, but when you lose weight, your clothes are not the only thing that you’ll notice become loose! Your weight loss can affect the fit and suction of your dentures, causing them to be uncomfortable. Weight loss causes changes to your entire body, including your mouth and gums. However, there is a solution: your Denturist can perform a simple procedure called a reline. A reline will “tighten up” your dentures so they fit well, create good suction, and feel comfortable again.
