Youthful Radiance with Sculptra®
Sculptra® is the original injectable collagen stimulator, featuring microparticles of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA), which helps restore facial skin structure for long-lasting improvement. By stimulating natural collagen production, it firms and smooths the cheek region and tightens the jawline. Treatment areas include the cheeks, where it improves skin quality for firmer, glowing skin; smile lines, softening facial folds and wrinkles; and marionette lines, smoothing the lines from mouth to chin. Typically, 3 sessions are required over a few months.
Flashing Lights or Sudden Floaters?
Seeing flashing lights or floaters can be a cause for concern. They’re caused by changes in the vitreous fluid which occupies the posterior chamber of the eye. This jelly-like fluid, which interphases with the sensory retina at the back, wants to shrink and liquify with aging, causing changes to the vitreous body as well as a traction on the retina. These changes produce the effects seen as flashes of lights or small floating spots moving in the field of vision. A more serious consequence would be a curtain which doesn’t float but covers a part of the visual field. In either event, they should be investigated with a professional eye exam.
Words To Live By
“In this present moment there is no fear. Fear is an indicator that your mind is either in the past or the future, making up stories about moments that have already happened or are yet to come. Be truly present today and stay attuned to the safety of the moment you are already in.” – Keith Macpherson

Food to Never Feed Your Dog
All pet owners are aware of the dangers of chocolate. But have you heard of these ones? Keep your pup away from the following: 1. Onions – Plants of this family, including chives and garlic, are not suitable for dogs. Eating these could cause your animal to develop anemia, weakness, rapid breathing and even death. 2. Grapes or Raisins – This fruit can cause severe liver damage and kidney failure. It’s been proven that even a few grapes can potentially be fatal for your pet. 3. Xylitol – Is found in gum, baked goods, and anything else that is sugar substituted. It is extremely toxic to dogs. Even small amounts can cause seizures, liver failure or even death.
Nutritional Needs for Seniors
As you age, your nutritional needs change, which is why it’s important to adjust your diet accordingly to improve the way you think and feel. Eating a diet that is high in fiber and rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes promotes a healthy digestive tract, prevents constipation, and maintains a healthy body weight. Antioxidant-rich foods, such as berries, cabbage, beans, and spinach help to fight against free radicals and boost immune function. Foods that are rich in omega 3 fatty acids such as fish, walnuts and flaxseeds help improve cognitive function. Following a well-balanced diet every day is crucial in leading a long, happy, and healthy life.
What Happens When You Quit
The quitting smoking timeline varies from person to person, but generally follows a similar pattern:
20 minutes: Blood pressure and heart rate drop.
12 hours: Carbon monoxide levels in the blood decrease.
2 weeks to 3 months: Circulation improves, lung function increases, and physical activity becomes easier.
1 to 9 months: Coughing and shortness of breath decrease as lung function continues to improve.
1 year: The risk of heart disease is halved compared to a smoker’s risk.
5 years: Stroke risk is similar to that of a non-smoker.
10 years: The risk of lung cancer is halved compared to that of a continuing smoker, and the risk of other cancers decreases further.
