Freedom at Any Age
These days the mobility market is full of possibilities. Rather than being confined to the inside of your home or relying on friends and family to take you out, consider the freedom of a mobility scooter. Battery powered scooters have come a long way and are now more affordable than ever. They provide the freedom to get around, they conserve physical energy, and they also provide you access to places you may not have previously been able to go. Along with the freedom, mobility scooters offer an element of safety.
New to Coaching?
Coaching is not advice, therapy, or counselling. Coaching, just as in athletics, is about teamwork. You will express a desire about something you would like to change in your life and together with your coach, you will figure out different practices to address this. The Enneagram Personality Type System is one tool that can be used to explore and connect, whether individually or with others. The idea is to respond from what you know to be true in the moment, without reliving the past or worrying about the future. To catch old behaviour patterns and create new ways of responding.
Prostate Cancer and Benefits of Yoga
Yoga has plenty of benefits, including lower stress, improved sleep, increased lung capacity, and reduced pain. A study published in Medical News Today suggests those benefits may now extend to men undergoing radiation therapy for prostate cancer. Although an effective treatment for men with prostate cancer, radiation therapy can have side effects that impair their quality of life. The study found that with yoga sessions throughout the course of radiation therapy, the quality of life of men participating in the study remained consistent, while fatigue severity greatly improved. Enjoy an at-home practice with highly trained, qualified yoga instructors at www.cjyf.ca.
Keeping Your Prostate Healthy
Maintaining a healthy prostate is important for managing conditions like prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), as well as potentially reducing the risk of prostate cancer. Some symptoms that may occur with a prostate condition include urgency, frequency and pain during urination, weak urine flow, fatigue, back pain, and blood in the urine/semen. Naturopathic doctors can provide support to those experiencing prostate conditions (including helping to reduce some treatment side effects) through nutritional support (dietary journal and guidance for proper diet), acupuncture, Bemer Therapy (increases microcirculation), intravenous nutrient therapy, and sweat detoxification through sauna and hyperthermia.

Music Therapy and Neuroscience
McGill Unversity’s Dr. Daniel Levitin has found that as a result of exposure to music, levels of immunoglobin A, an antibody linked to immunity, increases. In another study he found significant evidence of music’s anti-anxiety properties. Montreal Neurological Institute’s Dr. Zatorre has found that a brain structure called the striatum is stimulated by music to release dopamine which increases feelings of pleasure. Music therapists are continually training to integrate and apply research findings into practice in order to better serve people of every age, from babies to Alzheimer’s patients.
