Computerized Spine and Joint Therapy

Divine Spine provides computerized adjustments, most commonly used to provide neck pain, back pain, headache, and sciatica relief, through state-of-the-art technology. Divine Spine’s computerized treatment system is designed to gently, precisely, and effectively restore motion to your joints to help get you moving, feeling and functioning better. Treatment is performed through EVA – the Electronic Vertebral Alignment system. Adjustment is a non-invasive procedure consisting of a precisely directed movement to help relieve pain and discomfort and restore range of motion in the spine.

Art of Releasing Tensions

Jin Shin Jyutsu is the art of releasing tensions which are the causes for various symptoms in the body. No longer worried about sabretooth tigers, we now fight deadlines, news stories, financial slumps and other situations. Today, our bodies live in this constant state of stress, and we don’t get a chance to restore our bodies through relaxation. This chronic stress can result in congestion of the flow of life energy, resulting in potential illness. Jin Shin Jyutsu helps to reduce the negative effects of stress and bring balance and healing back to the body.

Navigating the Health System

It sounds intimidating but the “system” represents a group of services that work cooperatively together towards the same outcome. Since Bayshore Home Health offers a variety of home health care services, all your needs can be met. And should more care be required, you can stay with the same care team. Bayshore not only helps you by creating a customized care plan but investigates ALL funding options for you. Prior to booking any service, you receive a free in-home consultation to identify immediate needs and gather an understanding of your current health situation.

Reducing Cognitive Decline

Did you know that previous research suggests that hearing loss and abnormalities in the eye are tied to memory loss and a higher Alzheimer’s risk? New evidence now indicates that addressing hearing and sight problems can slow down cognitive decline. Existing studies have pointed out that there is a link between the quality of a person’s hearing and their eye health and their exposure to cognitive decline. For those who adopted hearing aids, the scientists found the rate of cognitive decline was 75 percent slower following this intervention.

Profile: Riverstone Dental Clinic

Riverstone Dental Clinic’s goal is to treat patients in the safest and most natural way possible while still providing all the modern dentistry you would expect of a dental office and provide a lifetime of healthy smiles. We are fluoride-free and do not support the use of Amalgam (mercury) fillings. Holistic dentistry is not a dental specialty but a philosophy of practice that promotes health and wellness instead of the treatment of disease. It is a less toxic approach at fixing oral issues in order to better a patient’s teeth, mouth and overall health.

Committed to Your Well-being

Your Central Alberta Co-op pharmacists provide exceptional guidance, including important facts on how to take your medication and what to expect. “When I transferred my prescriptions to a Co-op Pharmacy, the pharmacist called and we met to discuss my situation. This was new for me! She took the time to walk through every medication together. Now when I go in, it feels like they really know and care about me,” says Carmel M., age 82. “I still drive but I have several friends in my building who also use the free delivery option. It makes a big difference.”

Back and Pelvic Girdle Pain

When determining how to treat back and pelvic pain, many health professions focus on what hurts, rather than on why it hurts. Physiotherapists often look at back and pelvic pain in terms of how those regions function to gain a better understanding of the causes behind pain in those areas. The team at Diane Lee & Associates uses a novel approach that combines manual therapy and dry needling to release tight muscles and stiff joints followed by motor learning, using real-time ultrasound for biofeedback, and movement training. This combined whole body approach teaches the patient how to use their body in a more efficient way to avoid problematic habits in the future.

Summer Brain Care

It’s hard to focus on serious things like learning and exercising your brain when there’s so much summer fun to be had, but it’s important for students with learning difficulties to keep up with training their brain. This can be done by participating in many fun, yet important, activities, such as playing board games, building things with Lego, socializing, and taking on new challenges that are just above a student’s capacity. Focusing on wellness can also keep the brain healthy, so exercising, getting enough sleep, finding quiet time, eating healthy foods, and drinking enough water are equally important.

Sitting is the new smoking!

Statistically, 70 percent of jobs are sitting based today. We sit when we work, when we eat, when driving, when we’re on our devices and when we watch TV. Unfortunately, it’s everywhere and we can’t really avoid it. Chiropractors have a specific interest in sitting because it can slowly damage the spine and surrounding soft tissues, eventually leading to neck and back pain. The posture of sitting changes the normal curvature of the spine so that our head is pushed forward and our low back curve flattens out. The lack of movement and change of posture strains and eventually damages soft tissues. Ask your Chiropractor how you can address pain and prevent possible damage to your spine!

Digestion and Gut Permeability

Gut permeability, or “leaky gut” (as it is sometimes called), occurs when tight junctions in the gut lining become loose. When tight junctions are working properly, they form a tight barrier to keep unwanted things like undigested food, toxins, and bacteria from getting to the bloodstream. Without proper function of this barrier, these unwanted “visitors” can cause problems in the digestive tract and even other areas of the body, including inflammation-related issues. Eating a healthier diet of nutritious, unprocessed foods and avoiding alcohol, processed foods, and foods high in sugar and saturated fat can ease inflammation and calm the gut.
