Robo-Advisors Explained

Robo-advisors are online services that use algorithms to make portfolio recommendations. These algorithms are based on the information an investor provides by answering a questionnaire, which helps the software create a generic investor profile. While robo-advisors sometimes offer a faster and cheaper alternative to human advisors, their value is limited. The profiles that robo-advisors create tend to be formulaic, which means they are simplified and often don’t account for variables like risk tolerances. Human advisors are able to consider the complexities of financial situations and assist with ‘big picture’ planning, as well as take the guesswork out of investing.

Detoxing the Key to Health and Wealth

We have become a society of more is better, unfortunately there is often an accumulation of excess. Our screen time has grown over the years and excess weight strains our organs and body. To combat these excesses, we need to detox and declutter to improve health and wellbeing. Reduce or eliminate processed foods, wheat, sugar; increase hydration and consume more berries and greens. Replace screen time with fresh air, exercise or something creative. Pick one or two items and do them for a couple of weeks; notice the difference. Most people report feeling lighter and thinking clearer. These go a long way to making positive change.

Less Known Benefits of Exercise

Some of the less known benefits of exercise include: • Improved Muscle Tone and Bone Density – As we age, we tend to lose both muscle tone and bone density which can make us vulnerable to injuries. Hormones released when we exercise help our muscles absorb amino acids promoting muscle growth. • More Energy – the more we move, the more energy we will have. Feeling a bit sleepy? Go for a stroll. • Sleep Better – The energy we dispense during exercise leads to better, higher-quality sleep. Participating in 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity each week could lead to a significant improvement in sleep quality.

Where to start?

When a family notices that the short-term memory of their loved one has begun to deteriorate, they are often totally unaware of the level of care that is now needed. They may contact an Independent Living community or an Assisted Living residence only to find that there just is not enough support in place for someone in the beginning stages of Dementia. The first step is to have the family physician refer your loved one to a geriatric psychiatrist for further assessment. This will help determine the type of dementia and what challenges you and your loved one are facing.

In addition, vision testing can also be instrumental in detecting early onset of diseases such as cancer, stroke, heart disease and others. May is Vision Health Month. Book your eye exam now.

Regenerate Your Back with Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy in combination with injection therapy results in about 75% of chronic pain sufferers to become permanently pain-free. Chronic pain occurs in areas of the body that contain ligaments, cartilage or articular surfaces which typically have only 1/10th the circulation that is seen in other connective tissues. This makes them especially vulnerable to the effects of decreased oxygen utilization and aging, which further compromises circulation. When these areas become traumatized a significant amount of edema and inflammation only serve to further decrease circulation. Prolozone therapy with procaine, natural anti-inflammatory medications, vitamins & minerals and ozone gives the tissues what they need to heal. And as they heal, the circulation to the area is re-established.

The Functional Medicine Approach – What is it?

Functional Medicine is patient-centered health care at its best. Practitioners address the whole person, their story and experiences and not just an isolated set of symptoms. To determine the root cause of disease, we must investigate and understand how factors such as genetics, environment and lifestyle influences long-term health and chronic disease. A comprehensive intake procedure includes lab tests, a review of current medications and supplements and examining the existing diet. Cutting-edge diagnostic testing, natural treatments and integrative practices help the patient move towards wellness. Practitioners work together with other healthcare professionals to ensure clients get the best healthcare possible.
