Thermography and Breast Health

October is breast cancer awareness month, and preventative health care and early detection are important factors when it comes to breast health. DITI (Digital Thermal Imaging) or Thermography is a non-invasive assessment tool using an infrared camera. This helps to visualize inflammation and dysfunction in the body to assess problems in the vascular, muscular, neural, and skeletal systems. For breast health, DITI can help create a baseline of healthy breast activity, and yearly DITI follow-ups can help detect potential physiological changes and abnormalities. Since DITI looks for changes in physiology, it can be a great secondary measure alongside mammography.

Hear Well, Feel Connected

Hearing health and mental wellbeing are closely connected. When hearing loss goes untreated, everyday conversations can become more difficult, potentially leading to frustration, social withdrawal and feelings of isolation. Over time, reduced communication and fewer social interactions may affect emotional wellbeing and quality of life. Research has also found associations between hearing loss and an increased risk of depression and cognitive difficulties, although hearing loss does not necessarily cause these conditions. If you or someone you care about is struggling to hear, do not ignore the signs. A hearing assessment can help identify changes early and determine whether support or treatment may be appropriate.

Preparing your Home for Winter

As winter approaches, preparing your home for snow, ice and freezing temperatures can help protect your health, safety and finances. Have your roof inspected for damaged or missing shingles, worn flashing and potential leaks before winter weather arrives. Clearing gutters and addressing repairs early can help prevent water damage, ice buildup and costly emergency work. Taking care of these tasks now provides peace of mind and helps keep your home safe, warm and comfortable throughout the winter.

“Reserve Next Season’s Escape”

With camping season coming to an end, it’s the perfect time to start planning ahead. Booking your campsite for next season ensures you get your favorite spot and avoid the last-minute rush. Camping isn’t just about relaxing outdoors—it boosts mental health, reduces stress, and strengthens family connections. Time in nature provides fresh air, exercise, and a natural mood lift. Secure your campsite now so you can look forward to next year’s adventures, knowing your getaway for wellness, relaxation, and fun is already reserved.

Before the snow falls

With winter approaching, there a few things to keep in mind; FRUIT, FLOWERING and ORNAMENTAL TREE PRUNING season is right around the corner as the pruning and shaping needs to be done AFTER all the leaves drop, as well keeping your yard safe involves more than simply clearing walkways or preparing for snow. Recognizing when a tree has become a safety risk, inspect trees for dead or weakened limbs, signs of decay, weak roots, and their natural direction of lean. Is the tree leaning toward overhead power lines or nearby buildings? Snow and ice can add extra weight to already weakened branches. Take time to ensure your yard is safe from these hazards—or hire a QUALIFIED ISA Certified Arborist to assess and/or remove and prune trees to help prevent costly property damage and serious injuries while ensuring the job is completed safely.
