Hip and knee osteoarthritis can make everyday activities like walking, climbing stairs, or getting out of a chair increasingly difficult. The good news is that exercise is one of the most effective first-line treatments for managing arthritis pain and improving mobility. Physiotherapy helps by strengthening the muscles that support your joints, improving flexibility, and teaching strategies to reduce pain and prevent further decline. The GLA:D® (Good Living with Osteoarthritis, Denmark) Program is a research-based, 6-week education and exercise program designed specifically for hip and knee osteoarthritis. With ongoing enrollment and flexible start dates, there’s never been a better time to take the first step toward stronger, healthier joints.
Living With Autoinflammatory Diseases
Autoinflammatory diseases are rare disorders caused by overactivity of the innate immune system, leading to recurring inflammation without infection. Symptoms may include recurrent fevers, joint and muscle pain, skin rashes, abdominal pain, and fatigue. Medical management is essential to control inflammation and prevent complications. While chiropractic care, physiotherapy, acupuncture, or massage therapy does not treat the underlying immune disorder, it may help manage secondary musculoskeletal symptoms such as joint stiffness, reduced mobility, and mechanical pain. As part of a coordinated healthcare team, individualized multidisciplinary care can support mobility, improve function, and enhance quality of life for people living with autoinflammatory diseases.

Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy offers free naloxone kits along with simple, hands on training so you can feel confident using one if needed. Whether for yourself, a loved one, or your workplace, having a naloxone kit available is a small step that could save a life. Ask our pharmacy team how to get yours today.

Safe Trees, Safe Home
With all the recent storms and tornados, keeping your yard safe involves more than simply trimming branches or clearing objects from walkways. It also means recognizing when a tree has become a safety risk. Carefully inspect it for dead or weakened limbs, signs of decay, or weak roots from ant hills, and which direction its natural lean is.. Is it leaning towards overhead power lines or nearby buildings? Take time to ensure your yard is safe of these hazards—or hire a qualified ISA Certified Arborist to assess and/or remove trees which may prevent costly property damage, serious injuries, while ensuring the job is completed safely.

Address Storm Damage Early
Severe storms can take a serious toll on asphalt shingles, leaving roofs vulnerable to leaks, water damage, and costly repairs. High winds may lift or tear away shingles, while hail can crack or bruise their protective surface. Such storm damage can decrease the life expectancy of roofing shingles, increasing the risk of future weather-related problems. After any major storm, homeowners should inspect their roof from the ground for missing shingles, debris, or visible damage, and arrange a professional inspection if concerns arise. Any necessary repairs should be completed before winter snow settles on the roof, helping prevent minor issues from becoming expensive structural problems. Homeowners should also avoid waiting to contact a roofing contractor, as repair schedules often fill quickly after severe storms and as winter approaches, making it more difficult to secure service when it is needed most.
