Stimulate Your Skin’s Healing Power

Micro-needling is a natural, minimally invasive treatment that stimulates your skin’s healing power. Using tiny, sterile needles, it creates micro-injuries that trigger collagen and elastin production – essential components of youthful, healthy skin. This treatment is ideal for anyone seeking to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone, and smooth out texture. It’s highly effective for fading scar tissue (including acne scars), supporting rosacea-prone skin, and enhancing overall complexion. Safe for all skin types and tones, microneedling offers a gentle yet powerful way to rejuvenate the skin on the face, neck and other areas. Have questions? Talk to Doreen, your acupuncturist.

Do I Need Sunscreen in September?

It is important to wear sunscreen on exposed skin every month of the year. The UVB, or sunburn rays, are less intense in the fall and winter but can still damage your skin and cause skin thinning, skin cancer, wrinkles, and brown spots. A sunscreen of SPF 50 is recommended when you are outdoors, and it should be reapplied every two hours. If you are inside and away from windows, a reapplication may not be necessary. Be sure to use a generous amount! If you have never used sunscreen, it is not too late to start. It can make a big difference at any age.

Meet the Practitioner: Chrissandra Unger

A few years ago, I was feeling burnt out, processing some past traumas, and had low energy. A lot of self-care and energy adjustments were deeply needed. I read about Biofield Tuning, which made me curious to see what it could do for me. I found an amazing practitioner, and the results were remarkable—my energy returned, and I was able to set more heart desires in motion. I self-cared and studied this method and became a Biofield Tuning practitioner. I now help people with anxiety and depression, energy renewal, fear and grief, adrenal fatigue, and more. Exercise for a Healthy Mind

Regular exercise boosts brain function in seniors by improving blood flow, reducing inflammation, and stimulating the release of chemicals that support brain cell health. Walking, swimming, or yoga enhance memory, focus, and problem-solving skills while lowering the risk of cognitive decline. Exercise also supports better sleep and mood, reducing anxiety and depression, which are linked to poor brain health. Studies show that consistent physical activity can even slow the progression of dementia and delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease. For seniors, staying active is not just about physical fitness—it’s a powerful tool for maintaining a sharp and healthy mind.

Benefits of a Raindrop Massage

A Raindrop Massage uses essential oils to help with the realignment and detoxification of the spinal column. During a massage, the oils used on the feet and back help detox the body systems, improve emotional well-being, improve immune system functions and reduce stress and minor anxiety. Pure essential oils have the ability to enter our cell walls because their molecules are extremely tiny. This means that they can reach a virus that lives inside our cells and provide health benefits on a cellular level. Be sure to enter this month’s contest for a chance to win a Raindrop Massage and Card Reading.

Stay Hydrated this Summer

Warmer weather is a great invitation to enjoy the outdoors and nature. Staying hydrated is essential for maintaining health and keeping critical bodily functions working properly. Keeping a few tips in mind will ensure that you stay hydrated and continue to enjoy the activities that bring you joy. *Schedule water intake throughout the day. *Eat water-rich foods such as cucumbers, watermelon and broth. *Reduce water loss; excessive sweating can contribute to dehydration so be mindful of fluid loss during outside activities. *Make water more interesting by adding a bit of juice. Popsicles are also a great option – especially on warm days!

Travelling with Dentures

This summer, when you travel, be sure you are prepared for denture care. Bring a sealable container, a soft-bristle toothbrush, toothpaste, denture cleanser, adhesive, and any other items that you use regularly. If you have stored your old dentures dry, they will need to be soaked for up to 24 hours in water with a little Listerine in it. Always inspect the bathroom before you leave to be sure that you have everything. If you can find a denturist at your destination before you get there, you will at least have eliminated one concern. Contact them and note their hours.
