Managing Multiple Medications

Your pharmacist offers solutions that can help you manage multiple medications. *Synchronized Refill Dates. The quantities of your medication may be adjusted to coordinate refill dates. All medications can be refilled at one time reducing the number of visits to the pharmacy. *Blister packaging to arrange your medications in a weekly or monthly schedule. *Pre-Authorized Refills. Your pharmacy staff will let you know it’s time to renew your medication and provide a date for pick-up. *Extension of Expired Refills. Sometimes a prescription expires before you can see your doctor. Following an assessment, your pharmacist may be able to renew your prescription.

Stay Active and Safe

Staying active at a safe and smart distance is important for your body and health. Enjoying a walk around your neighborhood or on a remote quiet trail will keep your body motivated and balanced, and mentally feeling good. Stretching, Yoga and light exercises in your living room or in your yard is a good way to start or end your day. We are posting weekly health tips and exercises on our Facebook page. Find us under Bastion Physiotherapy Nanaimo today! We are here for you anytime and we are all in this together.

Increase the Power of Your Smile

With handshakes and hugs off limits, increase the power of your smile! Good oral hygiene is key to a smart smile, but sometimes it’s not enough to create the brilliance you desire. Now is the time to consider teeth whitening. Whitening uses peroxide to break down stains over time. The higher the concentration, the less time and applications are needed. A professional strength product applied for 5-10 days is ideal for most smiles and causes limited sensitivity. To find the right product for you and for helpful oral hygiene tips contact Wandering Pearl Dental Hygiene or visit our social media!

Need Help with Your Hearing Device?

Hearing aids are intricate devices, so like other advanced technology, are susceptible to malfunctions. Thankfully, there are some easy steps you can take at home to ensure your device is able to function properly. The first step is to ensure that the device is in fact turned on. Next, replace the battery with a new one from the package. Finally, inspect the device for any earwax or moisture buildup. For more troubleshooting tips, please visit our website for the latest how to videos and information.

Stay Strong Nanaimo!

Everybody knows how important fresh air and exercise are to our physical and mental health, but as we fight the spread of COVID-19, please remember to practice physical distancing while visiting Nanaimo’s parks and trails. That means staying 2 metres (6 feet) away from those who are not part of your household. Go single file when you pass others on a path or trail and only come out if you are well. Stay strong, Nanaimo! We will get through this together. For the latest information on COVID-19, visit www.bccdc.ca or www.nanaimo.ca.
